High, medium, low profile
Hi Ladies
I'm a little confused with these terms. Does the actual implant come in high, medium or low profile or is it the way the surgeon fits them? Thanks x

Re: High, medium, low profile
It's the implant itself. The profile is the projection, so if you had them flat on the table, it'd be how tall they stand. They range from low, moderate, high and x high. It's directly related to the diameter too, you could have two implants the same cc, but a higher profile would have a smaller diameter. It's an important thing to consider when you and your surgeon are choosing an implant as it will affect the shape of the breast. Though in some girls, there's not much choice due to their breast width diameter (bwd). For example I have a narrow bwd, so any size would have needed a high/x high. If your worried, discuss it with your surgeon.

That's really helpful, thank you. So it's not how high it sits on your chest, it's how far it comes out from your chest? I'm really broad and apparently need 12,5cm width each breast 410CC implant but I have no idea what projection he's going for. My ops on Friday so guess I should call tomorrow and ask. Thanks again x

Re: High, medium, low profile
Absolutely. There's only going to be one position they can put the implant. It'll sit high to begin with as your skin and muscles hold them tight, but given time they'll drop into their pockets.
I'd def give them a bell to be sure it's going to be the right look for you. I'm sure it will be, but you don't want any unknowns.

mammamia that did make me chuckle!
This had cleared it up for me too, I really had no idea what it meant! At my consultation we spoke in depth about what cc would be best for me etc but dont remember profiles being mentioned. Im going for a second consultation before my ba in September so will have to ask

I called up today and they're going to be 410CC extra high teardrops. I think I'm ok with that?! Trust the surgeon knows what he's doing x
