Massage and Vitamin E???
Hoping someone can give me a bit of advice on my post op recovery.
I recently had a redo because of cc in my righty. I had first implants for 9 years. Two years ago (7 years post original op) I kept developing seroma in my right breast which coincided with my monthly cycle. I went to the doctors and they said there wasn't much they could do.They gave me an ultrasound scan found nothing. Told me not to take any hormone...The pill etc and cut down on caffeine and salt. I did all of this but the seroma kept coming. Also occasionally in my left breast too. I saw three plastic surgeons....transform, mya and spire. They had no answers and all gave me different diagnosis. I was fed up. More months passed of this then my right breast started to change shape and become a little hard. I was then told I had some cc in the breast by my doctor. He refered me to an nhs plastic surgeon and she agreed to do the surgery however I had to pay for the operation. Whilst waiting for my surgery date I became pregnant and now have my Six month old baby boy! My boobs seamed fine in pregnancy and I hardly noticed the cc as they got so big. But after the birth they became even worse. I did not breastfeed but by a month before my operation the right one was grade iv and so hard...Both on top and on the scar.
My surgeon afterwards told me the scar was very bad in the right breast :(
From what I've read a seroma can contribute/ cause cc. It wouldn't surprise me if this what caused it as my breast would uncomfortably swell up twice the size.....and the experts could find no reason for it :/
I'm terrified of it happening again. My surgeon says I have a 9% chance. I can't afford another reop and the thought of not having my implants scares me. I'd just look awful.
My breast surgeon is very good....so I've been told by so many other health care workers. But she hasn't really given me advice on helping to avoid anymore cc. I've read that people do massage and take vitamin E, but not sure if I should be, could or not. I'm not seeing my surgeon for another 5 weeks.
Does anyone have any advice? Anyone had a redo after cc?
I'm worried sick and only 2 weeks post op. It's hard trying to take it easy with a baby and by the end of the day I'm in so much pain. Getting frustrated and very anxious xx

Re: Massage and Vitamin E???
I'm not sure about the seroma stuff, but definitely do not massage them unless specifically told to by your surgeon. If you've had a textured implant you'd actually be doing more harm as the implant needs to adhere to the pocket, like velcro.
No one can really say what causes Cc. There are things that are linked, but no cause and effect.
Hopefully someone will be along with more advice about seroma.

Re: Massage and Vitamin E???
Thanks for the reply charlii
Yes I think I do have textured implants so will refrain from massage then until I've seen my surgeon.
Had my stitches out today and nurse said I'm looking good and scars are good too. Also got the all clear for a proper shower and can wash my own hair now! Yay!! x

Ah that's good, you'll start to feel more human after a proper shower!
