You can be sleepy having had op & pain killers but it is good to get up and walk around , a little walk around the garden for some fresh air or even around the house just to get blood circulating and also stop you getting stiff and achy, doesn't need to be a long walk. Just getting up and moving around in between resting will be fine. XXX

hey hun,
don't worry, i did also sleep a lot with naps during the day etc, during the first few days.
as mirren says, as long as you go for a wonder in between naps, like just to the loo or to the kitchen to get yourself a drink, you should be absolutely fine.
i also wiggled my feet and toes every now and again while lying in bed, like you would on a long haul flight.

happy healing hun xx

Keep wiggling them toes and circling the ankles. Do you have the anti embolism stockings? I had to wear them for a week after but only made it to day 6 because they got right on my nerves, I was up and about loads though x

Hi hun hope you're doing ok. I was literally in bed for 3 days propped up with pillows as I was so sick from the GA. I worried about this too but just kept making sure I wriggled my toes and flexed my ankles. Every time I got uo I threw up. Yuk ! Xx

If you can have a little trundle up and down the hallway, great, but don't force yourself to be up and about. Keep your legs wiggling, and your stockings on if you're immobile.

You're right, it's probably the ga leaving your system that's causing 'more' pain, just keep on top of your painkillers, try not to skip a dose, only wean yourself off when you're ready to.

It depends. I didn't notice my bruising for about a week when the dressings came off, sort of 2nd grade bruising (i.e greens and yellows rather than blacks and purples) which then came out on my ribs and sternum too. Maybe you'll get lucky and not have much!

I didn't have any so I don't think that we all do. My friend had an uplift and it was  quite bad bruising at first- think we are all different x

I felt so bruised but didn't have any bruises just a little bit by my incisions. I was taking painkillers every 4-6hours for 3 days then just paracetamol as and when for a week x

I didn't get any bruising at all, I felt bruised though ...all my bruising must have been inside. They advised to keep on top of the painkillers for the whole week post ba even if I felt ok. I literally took painkillers for 7 days and only paracetamol and ibuprofen, everyone is so different x
