Stress/ibs Empty Stress/ibs

Post by Doughty 16th April 2014, 6:51 pm

Hi girls I am a couple of weeks from op and iv been stressing for a while over this esp over last couple of weeks since giving up smoking. I went docs yesterday as iv basically got the most swollen stomach, bloated , gassy just awful, feel full even after a small snack and look at least 5 months pregnant .

Doctor reckons it's ibs, any of u girls experienced this pre ba or from stress in general ? X

It's actually making me forget the stress of boobs in a funny sort of way... Boobs r the last thing on my mind ! X

You can develop IBS through stress, but once you have it you can't get rid of it unfortunately. There are different tablets etc which can help manage it though x

I went through a stressful time around 6 months ago and suffered with intense abdominal pain on a number of different occasions. The Dr thought it was bowel spasms and was brought on by stress. It's weird what stress can do to the body. Thankfully once the difficult time had passed it didn't seem to come back again.

Hope it's not ibs but I think there are things you can do to help, like to cut down on particular food groups etc. It might be worth looking into to see if it helps?

xx

I had massive anxiety 3 days before op.
I woke up and my room was spinning and by 2 o'clock it still wouldn't stop so called gp.
I was given 5 diazapam tablets to get me to my op.

Normally when I'm scared or nervous i get gassy tho.

Hope your symptoms improve x
