Sore tummy? Empty Sore tummy?

Post by B'sboobs 18th March 2014, 6:38 pm

Since having my BA on Friday, I have had quite a sore tummy. Do you think it could be a side effect of the GA? It's also hard to know if my tummy is sore (it's quite high- right up by my ribs) or if it's bruising at the bottom of my ribs?!! Or maybe from using my tummy muscles more, rather than my chest? I just don't know!!! X

Probably a mixture of all. The surgery can leave your ribs bruised.

The ga really disrupts your stomach along with strong painkillers which can leave you constipated and just generally interfere with your stomach x

All three likely. Your ribs can get pretty bruised in the op, plus the GA can play havoc with your insides. Peppermint tea is meant to help with the bloatyness. Try and stand as straight as possible, and some lactulose can help with the constipation if it gets too much. But the soreness will go eventually

I agree with the above answers! It's probably a mixture of all of those reasons. I remember my stomach feeling very sore after my BA.. It almost felt like I'd had an operation on my tummy hahah. You have to remember that you've gone through a lot of internal and external changes over the past week and your body will be constantly adjusting to your implants.. Also the fact that you'll be bloating, swelling and retaining water may contribute to the soreness and discomfort.

I hope it subsides for you soon, honey!! Take care and rest up.. It'll pass :) xxxx
