Back after 6 months with a problem
Haven't been on here for months as life has just been so busy but back and need some help from you ladies.
Firstly we decided in late December to leave Abu Dhabi and return to the UK so have been mega busy packing up and sorting out arrangements to relocate after almost 6 years here. My husband relocated in January but having to work out 3 months notice i have been here alone which has not been great (although lovely and peaceful at times ) So to cut a long story short i will be returning in 3 days time
On the boob front....quick recap i had surgery on April 4th and a heamatoma in the left side so surgery for that again on the same day. The left side has never been right and always painful. I have hypersensitivity in this side so even the slightest touch or anything brushing against it is painful and no sensation at all below the nipple and around the side where the heamatoma was. After seeing my non helpful surgeon a few times before i left it 6 months as his answer was always to wait for 6 months and see if anything changed. Anyhow went to see him 2 weeks ago as fed up with being in pain and wanted to make sure it was nothing dire before flying home. They did an ultrasound which showed a capsule of fluid in the area where the pain is and then sent me for an MRI as they were unsure if there was a rupture. The MRI seems to show no rupture but what looks like a capsular contraction which is 7cms..so not flipping small....he says it is not interfering with the implant as yet but he says this must be causing the pain and needs removal which would mean removing the implant, cutting out the capsule and replacing the implant which he says he will check for rupture at the same time just to exclude it.
Now number 1 i will be charged for this and he says its a risk of the surgery and is not covered, number 2 i do not have the time to get it done before i leave and 3 i just don't trust him to do it properly...so...my question is....i have the scan and MRI report (which cost me £600!) and want some information or pointers on who is the best to go to. I live in Kent near Sevenoaks if anyone knows any good surgeon around there - i need to go and show them the MRI and see what they say.
So bloody stressed out and in pain and also of course wondering how on earth i am going to afford it...yes i knew there would be surgery in the future but didn't envisage it to be 8 months down the line
Thanks for any help you can give x

Re: Back after 6 months with a problem
I'm so sorry Clazabella that you're going this pain, it must be awful for you
If you're looking for the best over here to do the work for you then a few of the more popular names would be Mr Rajiv Grovner (currently BAAPS president), Mr Nigel Carver, mr Anthony Armstrong, Paul Banwell and Mr Adam Topping.
So there's a quite a few name there in your area that you could research and maybe pick a couple out for consultations before deciding who is you feel happiest with. They all do have excellent reputations though.
Wishing you all the best Clazabella and hope you're very soon pain free and able to fully enjoy those lovely boobs of yours. Xx

Re: Back after 6 months with a problem
I've emailed Nigel Carver as heard from friends in the Uk re his excellent reputation...am arranging a consultation but basically by email he tells me it will need the capsule taking out and 2 new poly implants under the muscle otherwise the risk of reoccurrance is high :(
Its a start at least

Re: Back after 6 months with a problem
I would try Alex karidis my friend speaks very highly of him and is quite reputable from what I researched and my surgeon jag chana is local ish to you and dealt with my friends complications with no fuss.I have heard some horror stories about mr carver plus a friend had a bad time with him. Not trying to scare u but that was the reason I went with mr chana instead of carver. X

Re: Back after 6 months with a problem
I had jag chana at holly house in Essex, Nigel carver operates from there too. I know jag chana also operates at spire hospital bushy .
If you Google mr karidis u will get a contact number for the karisis clinix.
I don't mean to smear carvers name as I know 3 girls who had a good time for him but just hearing about the few that had a really bad time was enough to put me off. X

Re: Back after 6 months with a problem
I have booked a consultation with Anthony Armstrong next week. Rang around a few and Holly house most of the surgeons had a waiting list until the end of June, whilst i understand that they are very popular probably because they are fab i can't wait that long in this pain and need to get it over and done with before i start back to work. So fingers crossed. Thanks for all your help

Re: Back after 6 months with a problem
So saw Mr Armstrong today. Pretty happy that i had about 45 minutes with him to go through everything. He was very nice and totally not pushy...so options are
1) Do nothing and just put up with the pain and hope it doesn't get worse - theres no outside evidence of a capsular contraction like feeling hard or pushing the implant out that he can see or feel (doesn't mean there isn't one there obviously)
2) Take the implants out, hope it resolves the problem then come back in 6 months to a year for more implants.
3) Take the implants out and have a lift and restructure with my own breast tissue
4) Have new implants
5) New implants and a lift.
The implants are very low and starting to sag a bit and are almost looking like they are coming out of the bottom of the pocket....aaaggghhhhh
He is going to get his PA to mail me prices but just wondered if anyone has 1) rough prices for implants and an uplift and 2) any pics of scars with an uplift as although i think long term this is the best option am petrified go literally having my nipples taken off and resewn on and the scars that follow - yes i know i am a wimp!!!!!
