Hi lovelies!

Just wondering if you know when I can go swimming? It's probably obviously after the 6 weeks but wanted to check incase, Really want to take my kids swimming soon, I have a few weeks left in sports bra so do I have to wait until after that?
I thought it might be a bit risky infection wise because of the chlorine and water but I wanted to check what advice you'd been given?

Can't wait to get back to normal!

Definatly until you get the all clear from your surgeon Hun, even at 6 weeks your  insisions still may have microscopic openings or holes in between the stitches could potentially get an infection from public pools.

Hey,

I got the all clear to go swimming after 4 weeks but didn't as didn't have a costume to wear as nothing fitted - now I've bought a tankini (jan 2014) to swim in in my size so if I don't want to do classes I can go for a swim

As mrsball has said, you definitely need to check with your surgeon when you can go swimming again. You don't want to risk any kind of infection getting in your incisions-- it just wouldn't be worth it. Also, you'd definitely have to wait until you were cleared to be out of sports bras because bikinis unfortunately don't give the high support that sports bras do.

I know it's a long and enduring wait but it'll be worth it, honey! And just think that pretty soon you'll be able to jump in that swimming pool with your lovely new additions in a pretty bikini! :)

Take care xxxx

6-12wks. But just coz you've got the all clear infection wise, doesn't mean you're body will be ready for it. So do take it easy once you've got the thumbs up

Thanks for the replies ladies! I knew in the back of my head those would be the answers but was just hoping for different haha.
Just tried on my new sports bra which was recommended by one of the lovely ladies on here. It looks soo nice and comfy and i just put it on and it's tiny :( been looking forward to wearing it so much I had to wait for swelling to go down which pretty much all has according to the nurse and it's still so small on the boobs and back. It's a 32E and could do with more than one size bigger!!! Wish they had bigger in stick too grrr sorry I'm venting my disappointment on here haha xxxx
