If there is 9 inches between band and breast that should make you a G cup.

Re: Help? boob measurements..
If you measure 30 on your band it means you are a 30 band, adding numbers on is the old way of measuring which is old and out dated now. So using the new way you would be a 30G. Check out the link in my previous reply for a measuring guide as it is the best guide. Xx

Re: Help? boob measurements..
You'd be a 30band for sure, the +4 thing has so many girls in the wrong size. Then you've got 9-10 inches, so work your way up the alphabet. Im not sure how sizes work in NZ, but in UK, you'd be around G/GG

Just to add though - its entirely dependant on the bra, and the only way to know for sure is to get yourself fitted into one

La Senza are not very good from what I can gather Kati. Use the guide in the link that I posted above, it was made by one of the members on here who has her own lingerie website. The guide is really good and has pictures to show hoe to do it too. xx

Re: Help? boob measurements..
La Senza are renowned for be atrocious. Most 'high street' stores are, and the majority of online measures are wrong. If I went by them, I'd be a 36A, and I think we can all agree Im not! I think its fine to shop in these stores, but go in knowing your band size. The band is where you get all the support from, so if you're wearing one two sizes two big, that's just not going to cut it. They'll measure you into 'their' size range, to ensure the sale. By adding the 4/5, it puts a lot of women into a generic range - mainly 34A - 38D.

Re: Help? boob measurements..
I will look at that link then Lucia - thanks :)
I've always been useless with measuring my bust and before my BA didn't really want to either :P
It was the first guide on google that came up really so that's what I used and yeah I work out 3 cups sizes smaller than what bravissimo measured me at.. I guess i'll just be trying on bras before I buy them till I know my size for each shop or make :) thanks for correcting me though :D xx

Re: Help? boob measurements..
Sorry to be dim girls, I'm confused. All of the online measurements I can find in the uk say to add 4 (or 5 if odd number) to your actual band measurement. So my measurement is 30/31" so band according to them is 34 or 36.
So, surely if they work on that basis, they will have their 34 band manufacturered so it's actually a 30" Size, even though called a 34?
Or, is the 30 band the one that measures 30"?
Thank you xx

Re: Help? boob measurements..
Hi Kt, the old was of measuring was a way that the shops / bra manufactures could mas produce lots of bras in not very many sizes. Adding on numbers is really old but many places still measure like that. In that was of measuring I am a 36A, which is what I though I was even though I wore the bra on the tightest back setting and will still roomy but my cup size was not too bad. After speaking to people on here and using the guide (link at top) and then went to get measured properly I found that I was actually a 32DD. When you measure your band size, that is the band size you need. Then you will need to go up through the cup sizes to get your fit.
It is rather hard to get your head around as it is put into your head the minute you start wearing bras that you add on to get your band and that a 'D cup' is BIG! but when you measure properly a D cup is not actually that big when you have a small bank size.
Hope this helps. xx

Re: Help? boob measurements..
Yes, I am currently wearing a 34d asda 2 sizes bigger bra as they don't sell it in a 32dd and it's not too bad a fit. The band that you are is the band you need as it's the band that gives the support to your boobs. I might be a DD but they are not big by any means, they are rather empty after breast feeding 2 children. Xx

Re: Help? boob measurements..
You would think that wouldn't you! Im not sure how/when it changed. But like Lucia said, its a ploy so they can mass produce, and stores only have to stock minimal sizes. I would say probably 80% + of the girls that come through here are in the wrong band because of this, myself included. We're here to educate the women of the world how to get the best from their boobs!!
