Macom Bras
Morning Girls,
When i spoke to surgeon yesterday i asked him his opinion on macom bras post surgery.
His reply was: Theres no need to go out an buy your self an expensive Bra, we will give you a Supportive bra for after surgery and everything you need, you can wear that for a week or 2 then just buy a normal supportive sport bra, he suggested form Marks and Spencer's.
I know most girls on here swear by a Macom, is is worth it ladies?

Re: Macom Bras
I think the big pull on the Macom is that you don't need to know what size, only your band size, as it will accommodate up to a H cup or something. The amount of money I spent post op on support bras was ridiculous, I wish I'd gone for the Macom sooner. I still sleep in it at night. But its entirely your choice. A lot of the girls wont be given a support bra by the clinic, so will need to buy something pre-op, hence the size issue.
The other popular ones on here are the ShockAbsorbers, Triumph Triaction, and the M&S high impact range, either bra or zip front (easier to do up post op!)
Plus, if you type 'mybreast' at the checkout on Macom, you can get 15% off.

Re: Macom Bras
I never got one in the end as my PS recommended the Shock Absorber classic N102... I manage to get it on sale too £28 down to just £12.
It is comfy * very supportive, while in the wash I wear a £4 Tesco one which is also very comfy.
M&S had the HIgh impact Zip front on offer so I have ordered that also. LOL.

Re: Macom Bras
I had the Macom for the reasons Charli has said ,didn't know what size I would be immediately post op.
I found the M&S zip front bra the most comfortable ,it is really supportive and so soft on your skin & looks good too!, It found the Macom made me itchy ( maybe just me as others think it's fab!).
You could just go with the bra your surgeon says they will put you in post op & see what size you are before buying more.
You only need a couple one to wear whilst ones in the wash, better to save the pennies for all the fab bras you will want to buy later for your new additions..lol XXX

Re: Macom Bras
Definitely agree with Mirren, save pennies for after, you may find the one your surgeon gives perfect! I just could not bring myself to pay the macom price tag....for just 1 bra.

Re: Macom Bras
He is quite right hun.
My best friend had a BA in October.....she has lived and loved the Tesco ones which are a BARGAIN.
My M&S zip up came after my last post>.Got it on now and it is comfy.....However I seem to be inbetween a DD and an E....in this style. A 36DD or 34E in my ShockAbsorber.

Re: Macom Bras
Found this helpful as I was going to ask the same thing.
My surgeon hasn't yet talked about support bras yet. But I know I don't get one included in the surgery price but you can one from them for £40 but doesn't specify which one.
I will be buying a Macom today in preparation for in 2 weeks :) xx

Re: Macom Bras
I didn't get along with the Macom either. I'm another who found M&S front zip much more comfortable and prettier too.
If your surgeons supplying you with a bra that's great, you've no panic to buy bras and we have MANY ladies here rave about the M&S pack of two, high impact support bras for just £29. I haven't used these ones myself but I've not heard anyone that has used them not liking them and giving them a very good review xx

I have a question about the macom bra, which one did you guys get because I had a looksee on their website and there is the 1007 which is best seller or there is the I-bra which says has extra support, which would you recommend? Did you find a difference between them.. looking at it, just looks like the I-bra has a seem around the breast :/

Re: Macom Bras
I was put in a Marena Comfortwear post surgery bra by my surgeon straight after surgery even before I woke up. They provided it for me.
I did buy a M&S sports bra after a week as a backup while I was washing the other one, but spent all my time in the post surgery bra. It was soooooo comfy. I never bought a marcom - in truth I didn't know about them until I joined here a couple of weeks after surgery.

Re: Macom Bras
I bought a pack of two post surgery bad off e bay. They are really nice and fasten at the front. Will be good for early dats but won't be supportive enough after a while. They were 40 for 2, which I thought wasn't too bad. Xx

Hi, just to say i have 2 macoms which i find really comfy. Theyre also easy to wash and air dry. I got the ones that are advertised as best sellers on the macom site with the 15% discount 'my breast'. I reckon i will wear them at night for a while once i am in normal bras xxDi

Re: Macom Bras
As someone who sells the surgery bras, if your surgeon is providing you with a supportive bra for after your op then there is no rush to buy one prior to your op. If you did want to buy something then maybe just a bra of your choice which you feel will last you. As you will probably need two bras one on one in the wash. I would recommend any of the post surgery bras as they all do a fantastic job and each has different benefits, there's so much choice around. When I have a re op in the future god it's going to be one hell of a job to pick a post surgery bra, so I don't envy you there.
Re: Macom Bras
Hi, honey! I haven't actually got a Macom myself but I know they're very highly rated on here by lots of girls! So definitely consider it if you want a really supportive bra.
I, however, bought an M&S post-op bra and it was like wearing cotton wool for 3 weeks after my op! It was literally heaven haha! I now wear the triumph triaction bra which is highly supportive and doesn't let my boobs move at all (it's the bra in my avi pic!)
So just go with what you feel is most suitable for you, honey! I wouldn't recommend buying a bra before you op because you could have so much swelling to start off with. I went up to a 38 bandsize and I'm normally a 32/34..
So it might be best if you just wear the bra the hospital provides you with and then just buy one after all your swelling has gone down :) It will probably save you money in the long run as well :)
Take care!! And good luck for your op!xxx
