TIVA or GA?
Has anybody undergone a BA with TIVA?
Mr Hassan has given me the choice between a GA or TIVA.
Apparently when having TIVA you do not require any ventilators or breathing tubes and you are supposed to feel a lot better after surgery compared to having GA.
Thanks :) xx

Re: TIVA or GA?
I had the twilight sedation for my last surgery hun. It was great. I wasn't asleep, but I wasn't awake either. That may not make a lot of sense lol, but although I was awake I wasn't aware of anything going on around me at all.
There's a diary [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] of another also who had the sedation too which I think you'll find a good read. Xx

I had local with sedation ....I agree with Cookie , definitely great , don't have the yucky feeling that you get from a GA . I had no bruising , just a waterproof dressing over my scars and could shower next day . I can't lie , it was sore as the effects wore off but then that's what painkillers are for ....I'd recommend it xx

Re: TIVA or GA?
Hi Hun, if have to agree too. I had TIVA with mr Hassan last week, I've never had a ga so have nothing to compare it to, but I didn't feel sick at all, and apparently I got over the anesthetic very quickly (presumably because it was TIVA instead). Also they can wake you up much sooner post op if you have that as opposed to if you had a ga, in about an hour, which was good for me as I wanted to go home the same day xxx

Re: TIVA or GA?
Hi this is what I was offered when I went to see Mr Hassan today. I'm trying to get my head around it all!
Would you defo. Recommend it bgorringe? I've never had GA before and the way he described the TIVA sounded really good / beneficial. Where you aware of anything during the operation?
I did ask him about a hundred times if many people use it! But someone else's opinion would be good
