pins and needles
Hey guys, long time no speak!
As always I've come back to ask my boob family for some advice.
I'm nearly 12 months post op and I've been having a pins and needles sensation in one boob and round my back/side, I've had it for so long, I wanted to give it time for things to settle after the op but now nearly a year on it's still there.....is this normal? I don't want to waste James's time if it's totally normal but it's really annoying
Any advice from you lovely ladies would be appreciated x x

Re: pins and needles
If its been a constant sensation over the 12 months then I do think you should go back and see your surgeon lovely.
If its something that's appeared out of the blue, it could be simply nerve sensation which can come and go through the year of healing.
But as I said, if its been consistent throughout your entire recovery I really would suggest you speak with your surgeon about this.
Nice to see you back sweetheart

Re: pins and needles
Hmm I wouldn't say I'm constantly aware of it being there but it'll come and go throughout the day. I don't know if the implant is maybe sitting on a nerve? I'm still numb in the lower half of my breasts so it's a really bizzare feeling.
Hope all is good with you cookie x

Re: pins and needles
Aw wow thanks babe. I'm doing fine
Generally its the swelling that causes such pain and as they continue healing, coming and going as you suggest that's normal too.
I asked if it were constant because if a nerve is severed during surgery which is a risk we all do take then it can result in permanent nerve pain.
But if its coming and going, then I should imagine its all fine lovely. It can take full sensation to return back to normal up to 2 years Dove, but mostly by around a year the majority would be healed.
If its something really nothing you then maybe make an appointment to see your surgeon if only to get some reassurance xx

Hey Tink! I see you've had your response...how did it go? I hope you've got the long awaited result that you wanted!
Things are ok with me...still not managed to find a bra that fits the ones that fit my boobs are uncomfortable on the straps, I'm very slim and petite so I need a thinner strap the lady said...try getting a thin staple on a 30E/F bra!
Just going with sports bra for support.
Hope you're ok and really hope everything is sorted now since your op x

Re: pins and needles
I went to see James and he said they were perfect, he was rather pleased with himself and told me to start enjoying them lol, no reop needed I think it's just a case of trying to find a bra to fit my tiny frame, I live in Devon and most shops don't go as low as 30 on the back, I think if I went to a big city and got measured there then I'd probably find something that fits properly.
Oh god your still fighting with your body! Have they suggested a time frame where they'd expect to see some movement? Did you have new implants or just pocket revision? X

Re: pins and needles
Wow that's alot for your body to go through, it may just take time due to the trauma, it sounds like you picked a good supportive surgeon which must be reassuring.
I'm keeping everything crossed for you! I hope it was all covered in your aftercare.
They're still not what I thought I'd end up with but James did the best he could with my challenging anatomy, I stressed to him that natural is what I wanted and that is what I've got to be fair so I can't complain, I just feel the upper pole isn't as full as I'd expect but I had to choose between having bigger boobs on a narrow base or a larger base with a reasonable boob size, I have pigeon breast so my breast bone pushes my boobs outwards to the sides slightly, a narrow base on the implant would of made it harder to create the cleavage every woman wants.
I've got to say James went through it all with me before the op, I presented him with quite a challenge and I'm happy to have natural looking breasts rather than two big lumps sitting under my armpits lol.
I know that once I find a decent bra I'll be able to appreciate my results...I didn't tell my friends and none of them have said they know I've had one, they've just said "I swear your boobs have got bigger?" I love the fact it's not obvious but it's enough for people to question lol x

You're a 'Pregnant Buddy'!!!! (Check out your profile)
Awww congratulations babe! What wonderful news.
If you're happy to Dove, it would be so helpful if you created a diary here and detailed any changes that occurring as you progress through your pregnancy and the affect this has on your boobs throughout.
We'd really appreciate it if you wouldn't mind but would totally understand if you'd rather not.
Really glad James was so happy with your boobs too hun xx

Re: pins and needles
Aw thanks guys...love the pregnant buddy sign!
I wouldn't have a clue what to write in the diary but I'll give it a go! I searched on here last night for some diaries but couldn't find any from women who breast fed, I plan on breastfeeding my baby and I think this is where any changes will happen....what with milk coming in and then the changes of them shrinking back when I stop! I really hope I don't end up with saggy boobs by my knees of with skin hanging where they stretched so much!
Only time will tell but for now they're doing ok...think I need to invest in some decent sports bras though! X

Re: pins and needles
I actually read a report recently and it stated that breast sagging isn't actually caused by breast feeding, but by pregnancy itself.
Its just one of those things isn't it hun - if its going to happen its going to happen so no point worrying about something that may not even happen.
Yes! Definitely keep them well supported hun and moisturised. The better you look after them, hopefully the better they'll look afterwards. Xxx

Re: pins and needles
Mine ballooned in my first pregnancy...I loved it lol!
Like cookie says though it is just one of those things, at least I know I won't end up with a couple of teabags at the end of it
Knowing me I'll want them to be bigger again, bit like after surgery when you're all swollen and then once the swelling goes down you get serious boob greed lol x

Re: pins and needles
Congrats on the pregnancy dove, how far gone are you Hun?
Even very early on your boobs will start to grow and nipples can become quite sensitive.
Has the pins and needles sensation been going on whilst you've been pregnant ? Just maybe a sign of them swelling, growing and just preparing for pregnancy/baby x

And yes I was exactly the same dove mine grew through my pregnancy with my daughter (had implants) and after they sagged a bit , didn't look as full and looked a lot more natural however the size they were I wanted some really big boobs again just without a huge bump and backside!!

Re: pins and needles
Thanks mrsball! I'm 14 weeks this week! They've already started to grow and my god Don't talk to me about sensitive nappies! Sooo painful.
The pins and needles has been since the op but I just put it down to nerves and what not but to still be getting it 12 months down the line was worrying me but as I'm still quite numb around the area I'm getting it I'm guessing it could be nerves repairing and sensation coming back
All I can say mrsball is you got your big boobies back!
