Uplift & implant in two stages
I've had two consultations for uplift with implants.
The second consultant (whom I liked & felt more confident with) has advised me to have the procedure done in two stages. He thinks I would have a better result and benefit from having a good proper uplift then putting implants in afew months later.
Obviously this was not my intended route and hate the thought of recovering twice but also feel that I should take his advice as he is the expert.
Has anyone else been in this situation or had this done as two procedures?
Thanks

Re: Uplift & implant in two stages
Hi and welcome to the forum
There are quite a few ladies who have had the procedure done at the same time with great results.
Does this surgeon usually do the op in 2 separate stages?
How will the cost be divided?
Who are your surgeons you've seen Hun?
X

Re: Uplift & implant in two stages
I've seen two consultants, the first bmi quoted me for 1 stage but I'm not over confident on how many times he has performed this operation.
My second consultant was with nigel horlock at spire & I felt he was more confident, showed pictures of his work and I can find info on him on the Internet.
He says I could have 1 stage but he thinks as I have quite a droop that i wouldn't have as good results and may end up having further droop.
Cost wise he has negotiated with the hospital that I can have the op at nearly the 1 stage price if I pay all in one gk which I don't mind doing.
I just don't like the recovery twice & the delay
Eeekkkkk. Don't know what to do
Just know I want to get on with this soon - was hoping to get booked for next month

Re: Uplift & implant in two stages
A spire surgeon will be bapas registered so that's a good start.
However having it in 2stages I can understand you're dilemma . I'd also rather have it in just one stage.
Maybe go back and have another consulation with him discussing in more detail the pros and cons of each or see another surgeon for another opinion.
Hopefully some uplift ladies will be along shortly to give you some mor guidance and insight to having both uplift and implants x
I wish you luck in your descion hunny and I know when our dear admin cookie returns she's has both uplift and implants in one stage and will give you her valuable advise xx

Re: Uplift & implant in two stages
Thank you mrs ball.
I'm gonna ring & arrange another appointment to go through it again.
It's a hard decision and I would hate to make the wrong one!!!

Hi moomins! Do you think you might feel better getting a third surgeon opinion? I still haven't had my ba so I'm no expert, but I have had consultations & had different opinions at first which really confused me also! Xx

Re: Uplift & implant in two stages
Hi Moomins !
I would definiately get another opinion.. the surgeon who was going to do my BA (this Friday.. but going to have to wait now ..) is totally amazing at uplifts with and without implants.. I was going to have just a BA but I've seen his pics of uplift and implant.. he is known in the industry for his amazing attention to detail and his scars are supposedly almost none existent .. His name is Garrick Georgeu and he works out of Aurora in Chelmsford and the Cadogan Clinic in London .. look at his before and after pics of the op your requiring.. he is at the forefront of techniques, truly an amazing Surgeon with all the assuring creditonals you need. Hope this helps. x

Re: Uplift & implant in two stages
Thanks for your replies.
I've looked on the aurora website & they do mention two stage uplifts/implants, however I'm wondering whether its down to a surgeons preference?
In the meantime I've emailed the first consultant who did not mention two stages for his opinion and I've also got an appointment tomorrow with mr horlock to discuss again.
Failing this I may get a third opinion.
To be honest I feel more mind set about getting it done it one stage so will speak to consultant tomorrow and go from there
I never thought it would be this confusing!!!

Re: Uplift & implant in two stages
Hope all goes well tomorrow hunny.
If he's the surgeon you're confident with then maybe discussing the option of a one stage is the way forward.
Wish you luck hunny and let us know how you get on x

Re: Uplift & implant in two stages
Good luck sweetie...
I had the same dilema as you. In the end I chose Mr Liew who was happy to do it in one procedure. I do feel for you tho as it really does mess with your head!!! Im not having my op until later in the year possibly. Would be nice to follow your journey tho :))) x

Re: Uplift & implant in two stages
Hiya
Well ...... He says he will do a 1 stage lift & implant on me but thinks I have a chance of getting double bubble (boob sliding off implant) reckons 50%. So may end up with revision. I asked why I see ladies on the Internet with worse boobs than me who've had one stage & look fine & he says its because the after picture is 6 weeks after not 6 months!!! Fair point.
I also stated that I could end up needing revision in two stage as nothing is for sure?
I left it that I'm going for stage 1 and choosing sizes now.
However if I'm honest I'm still in two minds.
He did say that he's more optimistic after seeing me yesterday for a second time!
I really never realised this would be so complicated!!! I really want it done in one stage mainly because of recovering twice would b an absolute pain, I have two small children & do martial arts which I wanted to get back to as quick as possible.
Maybe I should flip a coin??!!!lol
Still waiting to hear back from surgeon 1 so will also see what his views are.
Thanks for your support on here - it's great to talk it through

Re: Uplift & implant in two stages
Good luck babe with what you choose to decide. Do what's best for your body, especially if the surgeon has said there is 50% chance that you could double bubble. My surgeon is also works at Spire, and he's doing my uplift and BA in one! Xx

Re: Uplift & implant in two stages
Ok - I'm booked in - two weeks today!!
Going one stage ( my consultant said he over estimated my revision percentage and would say 30/40%
Compared to 5/10% on any boob op)
Ekkkk - I'm really nervous
