Going smaller?
Hi I've sifted through a lot of the forum but haven't seen many posts about people having reops and going smaller? I had my boob job done 8 years ago and have recently developed capsular contracture and my implant has also rotated. I went from a 32a to a 32e although I only really wanted to be a c! So I now have to have a revision and having been for a consultation have to go for removal, capsulectomy, lift and replacement. Has anyone else been in my position? X

Re: Going smaller?
blondie12 - I can't remember exactly what size implant I had as it was so long ago and I can't even remember if I had any paperwork! I'm sure I must have done as I went with a very reputable surgeon, Mrs Kat. They're definitely over the muscle anatomicals and moderate projection. I think one was about 320cc and the other 350cc. I went from A to E so now I'm wondering if I've remembered that wrong!
Tinkerbell - how are you feeling? Is a re-op more painful? The thought of the capsulectomy makes me feel quite sick to be honest! How much did you have to pay if you don't mind me asking? I've been quoted £5,500 that's with local anesthetic and sedation. X

Re: Going smaller?
Thanks tinkerbell that's reassuring. I'm not feeling quite as brave about it all as I was last time :-)

Re: Going smaller?
Having a re op can be a daunting thought but it can also be the start of a new journey.
I've also had a re op though not a capsulectomy.
All in all a re op is not as bad as first time round however with an uplift and a capsulectomy involved it may a diffrent recovery.

Re: Going smaller?
like a BA the recovery for a reop is totally diff for everyone, my first BA was awful for me and I was in pain not discomfort actual pain but then after the reop yeah ok my left, one with CC was more painful that the right xx

Re: Going smaller?
I don't remember much pain from the actual op last time but knowing I have to have a capsulectomy in my right breast I'm sure it's going to abit more painful. Can't stand the thought of all the scar tissue being scraped away! Hardly slept a wink last night for worrying and I'm not even booked in for op yet! Thanks for all your replies x

Re: Going smaller?
Thanks blondie - I'm planning on going with Mr Fatah at The Westbourne Centre. He's a very reputable surgeon and was president of BAAPS at one point too. My GP recommended him so fingers crossed for a good result x

Re: Going smaller?
Yes Tinkerbell I guess I could have got CC with any surgeon and the same goes for the rotation. I'm having to plan the reop around the school holidays. I've got four children three of which are at school. So I'm thinking either Feb half term or Easter. Got to scrape the money together in the mean time :-)
