Why did you/are you getting get a boob job?
[sorry if this is in the wrong forum section...]
I just wondered exactly why - is it merely for aesthetics or is there a story behind it?
I have always felt insecure about it since I was 16 and my boyfriend told us that we were "the same size" and I was "manly" which wasn't great, especially as he dumped me for my best friend with double Ds! I'm only an A and I know I need a boob job but I'm just dubious about complications i.e. if it bursts, I also feel reluctant due to the pain and cost.
However, I do feel childlike and as if I never became a woman when I see my bust -I think I might as well be a man...! I just feel as if I'm not worthy of any man due to this factor - does/did anyone else feel that way? Especially with sex, it's like...oh, please don't remove the bra haha
Thanks.

Re: Why did you/are you getting get a boob job?
I'm getting mine mostly out of insecurity.
I'm sick of walking down the street with my boyfriend and his friend on a Saturday morning and having his friend comment on and draw my boyfriend's attention to other women's chests. I feel inadequate in that department compared to them all and end up feeling really down and depressed that my boyfriend can look at all these attractive women and I just dont compare :-( he must enjoy it deep down, even though he's respectful enough not to make it obvious?!
I just want to fill out my tops, or dress if we're at a wedding etc, and look and feel like a normal woman with a nice chest. I want to keep my boyfriend's attention so he has no need to think other women have nice chests while I have practically none! I do have a bit of a chest, more than some people certainly, but it looks really small in clothes and I dont like their shape braless either.
xx

It is for myself - for me to feel more confident and secure. He keeps saying I dont need to but he's supportive of anything that will give me a bit of a confidence boost.

Re: Why did you/are you getting get a boob job?
I'm doing it because I feel way out of proportion, very broad shouldered, wide hips and small boobs.
I waited and waited for them to get bigger as I was growing up and now that i'm 25 i've realised that I'm not going to grow any more.
My OH is being very supportive and is going to look after me when I have it done ... can't wait to be pampered!!

Re: Why did you/are you getting get a boob job?
ive never had huge boobs and when they were small and perky it never bothered me that much, after having 3 children and breastfeeding 2 of them they took theyre toll. I recently lost a bit of weight and i hated the way they looked. I decided to go ahead with it everyone ive spoken to have said it the best thing theyve ever done, i didnt want to be here in 10 years time wishing id had them done. I went through all the pros and cons and tbh didnt want to spend that much money on myself and thought they only last 10 years but the way i look at it is youre only here once so make the most of it while your here x

I did it for myself to give me more confidence and look better in my clothes, of course all women want to be attractive to men but i dont think this should make you get a BA and any man who makes you feel inadequate really isnt worth it.
Its all about weighing up the pros and cons and seeing if its really what you want, theres lots of advice on this site which im sure will help you make your decisions hun.

I totally know what you mean - I have quite broad hips and shoulders too and then you meet people who have smaller frames with bigger boobs and it's like um, HOW?!
I really wish scientists would investigate further into why some women have boobs and some miss out completely...maybe it's to do with hormones?!
It's not fair though, I feel guys can completely rip you apart for being "unwomanly..."

Re: Why did you/are you getting get a boob job?
Yeah, its definately not a good idea to do it for a man who actively makes you feel inadequate, or implies in any way that he'd like you better if you had a larger chest.
I maybe didnt word my first post very well, but its me that feels inadequate compared to other women and insecure because of it, its certainly not my boyfriend making me feel this way.

I completely understand how you feel. When I'm with a guy I often let my own insecurities act as a shield against them and the relationship often fails due to that [although I wont usually express it], I can't even let a guy see me without a bra on because ergh just noooo
I once let a guy know how I felt and then he used it against me - laughing with his friends that I had "the chest of a 2 year old"
so yeah, I really do understand how you feel, especially as magazines these days make men perceive that all women have nice big boobs

Oh my god, I cant believe he did that to you huni! Dont take any notice of immature idiots like that, seriously. Much easier said than done, I know... But dont let it ruin your trust in men - there are some nice ones out there, you just gotta be careful who you choose to let your guard down with :-)

Re: Why did you/are you getting get a boob job?
Well I want mine because, I always felt insecure when I was younger, my mom and sisters were well blessed and mine were only a 34c,, 20 years on and looking back, I had a really fab figure, Why dont we see it? anyway Iv'e since had 2 children, and with my 1st child I went up to approx ??36f/ff/g ? I was massive,,I'd lost all my weight within 6 weeks of giving birth and went down to a 34b? cup, I had a really bad experience being in hosptial, durin which I'd lost loads of weight, went down to 6 1/2 stone and a 34a, now years later Im 8 stone and still a 34a/aa ?.
I've been with my man for 20 + yrs and he loves me no matter what I've got or not !, I've told/disscussed with him about me having a ba, and he says if it makes me happy ! beside I know for a fact he loves big boobs, so I'm glad I have his support, but he doesn't want me to get TOO big lol, I would be happy with going to a 34 dd/e, I have wide shoulders (follow my dad lol) 27 in waist, 34 hips, I've tried the rice test and it suits me, I dont wear clingy clothes anyway, so it's not as if I'd be flaunting them, might of been a different case if I was younger x

Re: Why did you/are you getting get a boob job?
Well i did it because they didnt end up looking the same after breastfeeding and pregnancy. I wanted back the perkiness as they were now two saggy 34c's. I also felt insecure having my bra removed when I was being intimate and usually I left it on. I also got tired of wearing pushup bras and chicken fillets to push up the skin I had.
I was lucky enough that my ex's were **naughty word** men and not boob men, but my current bf is, so that made me more self conscious, although he never said anything bad about them. It was something that I had been wanting to do since I was 22 years old, and I finally took the plunge at 34 x.

Re: Why did you/are you getting get a boob job?
I did it because I never developed properly. I've always been petite, but that can't be the reason because I know of lots of petite girls who had some kind of bust. Guess I was unlucky!
I kind of handled it, but after having my 2 kids and having a taster of pregnancy and breastfeeding boobs, I couldn't cope when they ended up even smaller than ever - in fact non-existant.
My husband left me last year and I know that part of the reason our marriage failed was all the barriers I kept up....I was so petrified of being naked even in front of him (who never said anything but nice things about my body) that I did anything to avoid sex and nudity.
I did a lot of thinking after he left and researched bas and decided that I had to give it a go. And the difference it's made to me is incredible....I feel womanly and sexy and worthy of any man - and sooooooooo happy!!!!!!

Re: Why did you/are you getting get a boob job?
I'm considering having a BA for me and me only. Hubby is fab and says he loves me as I am but I will not be happy until I have one! Have my first consultation this wednesday with MYA in Chelmsford and cannot wait. Need to think of some questions to take with me tho. I'm a 34a and have never had big boobs, even when pregnant and am so fed up with seeing tops and thinking I can't wear it cos of small boobs.
How soon after making your mind up to have one done can it be booked for?

It varies hun but a lot of places like you to have a 2 week cooling off period to make sure you're making the right decision. You can get it booked in quite quickly if they have spaces though...

Re: Why did you/are you getting get a boob job?
I want mine done, to be in porportion, i am pear shaped, quite petite and tiny up top.
I am obsessed with bigger boobs and want my share.
Im taking a risk as my fiance says he doesnt like big boobs as his ex (a long time ago) had d cups and he said it put him off big boobs! ?????
Hm, is he lying? he assumed id only go up a cup or 2, but while the surgeons there eh?

Re: Why did you/are you getting get a boob job?
Watching all my friends develop beautiful big boobs was torture for me throughout school, mine were under developed and awful. I felt self conscious on girly holidays is a bikini, I think having this BA, will make my body look more in proportion as I have small boobs, small waist, big hips and lol so hoping I look more curvry!!
At the age of 16 I said to my friends by the time I am 21 if they havent grown, Im going to have a breast enlargement, they all knew how unhappy I was. Here I am at 21, 23 days away from have the boobs I have dreamed off after all these years and alll my friends and family are overly supportive and 100% behind me because they understand that I am not doing this through vanity but simply to make me more confident and happy!!!!!
Roll on the 29thhhhhhhhhhhhhh xxxxxxxxxx

Re: Why did you/are you getting get a boob job?
I did it because I didn't develop any and from the age of 16 stayed the same size. Even when I put a lot of weight on my boobs only went up to a B and even then they didn't fill the cup completely. Ialways wanted to be able to wear nice bras and clothes, but they never looked right. So I think I've known since 16 that I wanted a BA. Nothing to do with men, although I felt self concious of them, I never had any bad comments.

I totally know what you mean about barriars - I know at first it seems silly to stipulate issues to something seemingly so small [no pun intended lol] but it REALLY does have an impact. I know myself that relationships have failed because I reject guys so they never see me without a bra because such a reality...OH MY GOD lol
I had a nightmare last night actually - there was this guy I was seeing but it all fell apart as he actually had a gf but I couldn't bear to let him touch me...anyway, last night I dreamt that I finally said I'd have sex with him and in the dream he removed my bra and then decided he didn't want to sleep with me. Ergh, it was horrible!!!!
I'm so glad that someone else feels as I do.
So you'd definitely say that the operation was worth it?
I'm just a little scared of reactions of ppl and the pain...

Re: Why did you/are you getting get a boob job?
It was 100% worth it, for me. I've only told a few people I trust, and they've all been fantastic about it. They were shocked at first as I kept my feelings all to myself for all these years...I finally feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders and I can finally be myself. Cheesy, but really true!
I think others may be guessing, but let them. I'd still never regret it - even if people were laughing behind my back I honestly wouldn't care.
And as for the pain, TOTALLY manageable. It was nowhere near as bad as I imagined - more discomfort and the annoyance of not being able to do things. I was back to normal life (albeit carefully) by 11 days po and felt really good after 3 weeks.
So yes, all worth it for me and I'd do it again tomorrow. (But would rather not as I'm enjoying the ones I have too much!)
I know what you mean....for all those years I felt such a freak, and everytime I felt unhappy I felt vain and selfish, as I had so much else to be thankful for. It's fantastic to hear that you're not alone in these thoughts. If I'd found forums like this years ago I'd have had my op a long, long time ago....but at the same time glad I waited to have my children as now my body's just for me.
