Re: Sleeping pattern x
Is this maybe because you aren't wearing yourself out enough due to having surgery? I know that this is the case for me sometimes.. If i don't mentally or physically challenge myself throughout the day, i find it very hard to sleep at night because i'm simply not tired..
Could you try drinking less tea/coffee after 6:00pm? And try to incorporate a long walk during the day?
I know that drinking milk before bed is supposed to be a winner for sleeping! Also, bananas are supposed to be excellent for sleeping.
Could you try reading for half an hour, taking a hot shower before bed, or taking a hot water bottle to bed?
I strongly believe that after a stressful or busy day, it is vital that we unwind by watching the telly or reading a book or just relaxing in general.. So make sure that you do take an hour-minimum to relax before bedtime! Oh and try not to worry about sleeping because then you'll have the opposite effect and you'll prevent yourself from sleeping haha.
Lastly, when you wake up in the morning- get up! The earlier you rise, the more tired you will be the following night :)
I know i've babbled on a bit but i thought i'vd contribute something haha :)
Good luck!! I hope you manage to sort your sleeping pattern out, honey! Xxxxxxx

Re: Sleeping pattern x
Unfortunately because of your nose sweetheart, it is possible that because you're not able to get back to your regular sleeping position that is most comfortable for you to help you drop off, so....you may find no matter what you do, it may be difficult to drop off until your body returns to normality (as it sees it). Then again. If you just find that something that works for you, you will have cracked it hun.
Its the same for girls after their BA who have a lot of swelling and aren't able to return to their natural sleeping position for a while - the body just doesn't recognise this and they're either fine drifting off, but will wake continuously through the night, or like yourself Blondie, they simply can't sleep.
If you're anxious also, this too will prevent sleep no matter what you do.
Toni has given great tips there, maybe some chamomile tea also might help?
Some simple relaxation techniques may help too - just laying for a while in silence focusing only on your breathing, taking long deep breaths in and out.
Then focus on the body, tensing your toes and work up the body tensing each muscle as you lay there not moving but working your way up.
Visualising yourself in the most restful place you can think of. See yourself there and feel how it feels...it might take a little time to get to this place, these are meditation techniques Blondie, but they do really work babe, so if you can empty your mind and visualise yourself in that restful place, you'll be surprised just how relaxed you'll feel after this.
I started meditation a few back Blondie and its the best thing I've ever done. I'm not saying it'll work for you... But maybe give it try? Xx

Aw Blondie sleep deprivation is torture, just think it's good prep for if ever you have kids.
I struggled sleeping on my back that first week, i had to get my hubby to stroke my hair to help send me off, it worked for me as it's something that relaxes my body completely, only trouble was it relaxes hubby too and sometimes he'd fall asleep before me, lol x
