Left incision very sore
And small specks of blood on the tape and through to my bra!
I don't think it was there after I showered yesterday morning. But laughed quite hard yesterday afternoon and I did think if I laughed any harder I might split my stitches!
Will it be or or should I call my PS?
Hope y'all had a fab Christmas Day xx

Awww Hun, don't worry, I'm sure you havnt split your stitches, it's still normal to have a few speaks of blood (dark old blood) from healing Hun.
If you are really concerned do call your ps. But I. Sure it'll be fine x
Make sure you're drying your insions with a hairdryer on a cool setting x

Re: Left incision very sore
A little oozing is perfectly fine through early healing babe. Maybe a call to your clinic though to see if they'd rather you kept the would dry whilst it oozing would be best?
I'd personally ask babe - but the oozing in itself is just fine and nothing to worry about. XX

Re: Left incision very sore
Ha! How cool is that. But how weird if he asks to see your boobs over Skype! Hahaha. X
Re: Left incision very sore
Ha Ha, that would be weird!
I hope it's all ok Jen, mine were doing that too - i held off showering and when i did shower dried them with the hairdryer.
Have you had your tape changed (at your one week check)? My nurse only applied one layer, rather than the 3 layers i had post op. Therefore it's more likely to appear on your bra, even if it's only a tiny amount xxx

I am sure he'll wanna see hence skype? Haha!
MissC my first check is at 3 months. I have to change the tape myself at 3 weeks. But maybe I'll need to do it before after the Skype later?
Will let you know how it goes! X

Re: Left incision very sore
Don't remove the tape just because of the oozing babe. Not unless your surgeon clears it.
In removing the tape before the 3 weeks as instructed you're not just putting on new tape... You're actually disturbing the healing of the wound.
Whilst the tape holds everything together its keeping the skin held still so you get a nice neat scar. If you remove the tape without surgeons permission your scar may open slightly and you may risk a wider scar.
Although the oozing on the tape may not look pretty. Its not actually doing any harm at all babe and doesn't need changing at all. Xx

Re: Left incision very sore
You will have dissolvable stitches, but the glue over them used acts as a water resistant protection so you'll be able to shower from day one. Xxmsc2013 wrote:Hope the skyping goes ok ! made me giggle ..

So just had the call. All is well he said nothing to worry about so long as not infected (hot, sealing lots etc). He had a look too and said all ok
Glad I checked with him. Xx

Re: Left incision very sore
Feeling ok thanks msc. Still bit of boob ache and back back too if I do too much.
The mum bit hasn't been as hard as I thought to be honest. The boys (2.5yrs) understand mummy can't pick them up as I have sore boobies. Cooper still wants mummy over daddy most of the time. But he's generally good at night with daddy now he knows mummy can't come get him xx

Re: Left incision very sore
So pleased for you Jenpops. My 2 yr old (almost 3) is a mummys-boy mostly so we have been weening him off me a little ...Haha.. will explain to him a few days prior about me not picking him up. Should be ok. My 7 yr old is a yo-yo.....so he will probably be the tricky one .
Anyway....wittering now, glad you have got it checked out and feel reassured hun

Re: Left incision very sore
Thanks Cookie for claryfying re the stitches ! and glad you've been reassured Jenpops... and sounds like youve managed super well with mum duties too.. my little one is 8 .. so not so little ... she's actually at the age where cuddlels and kisses are slightly embarressing ... I'm worried more about the day to day .. I totally want to make sure I have someone with me so that she is not left alone with me after surgery should there be any complications etc and to make sure she is cared for .. but just so I can be totally clear on expectation with my mum ... she has got it into her head (probabaly because my surgeon was so big on the rest and recovery stage and I've told her this..) that I won't be able to make a cup of tea for days .. will I not be able to cook for two weeks ? I know its very subjective .. everyone heals different ... how much of an invalid really am I going to be !! x

Re: Left incision very sore
I can cook now. Although I'm sharing it with hubby. Well he's doing most but il do bits and bobs. I can make hit drinks. Just do lift the full 6 pint bottle of milk. Shout hubby for that. I can pull my clothes in now. Over the head can feel a bit tricky. But my ps today said to try and gently reach up high a couple of times a day, just to stretch myself .
I've washed a few pots and tidied a little. Only toys or clothes away x

Re: Left incision very sore
My recovery with overs was...
Day 1-3: Completely wiped out, capable of making myself a cup of tea...but spent most of it asleep in bed
Day 4-7: Able to do a little bit of cooking, playing with the kids - but absolutely no lifting! Still sleeping a few hours during the day
Day 7 -10: Pretty much back to normal, even took my daughter to panto. Still sore though, so no lifting, driving, making beds etc.
Obviously everyone is different, but as long as you have plenty of support for the first week you'll be fine xxx
