Surgeons pen markings
Hey girls,
So i'm day 3 - and can't get the pen markings off my skin!! My surgeon has drawn right from the neck down to the belly button in dark blue pen, it makes me look like some kind of hospital escapee!! Even with my top zipped right up, you can still see it!
Did anyone else have this? I am very nervous about rubbing too hard with a flannel, but don't really want to look like this for a week...i'm supposed to be taking my daughter to panto tomorrow. I'm considering trying nail polish remover....bad idea??

MissC I used nail varnish remover, not sure if it was ok to do, but it did get it off. It was only at tops I just left the ink near bottom.x

Re: Surgeons pen markings
Thanks hun, i think i'll do the same - just to clean the visible bits. I don't want people knowing, the surgeons markings is a bit of a giveaway!!
I'm feeling very bruised today, mainly around my back - i think caused by sleeping upright more than anything else. How are you? xx

I just used soapy water to get mine off... The bits round my boobs I just let it go by itself but if you have it up high then you will want to get that off understandably!
Nail vanish sounds scary though lol! Make sure if that's the only thing you use it doesn't go anywhere near your boobs and the incisions... Your boobs are now newly stretched skin xx

Baby wipes sorted my pen marks - they have no thought these surgeons do they for us having to go home with big black pen marks running up your chest and the volume printed nice and visibly too do they! Lol.
Hope you've been able to get it off hun. Xx

Thanks girls, honestly i look like a treasure map ! I think Mr Richards got a bit carried away with his marker pen!
Wipes etc haven't worked, so going to try a little nail varnish remover on my neck - then leave the rest till i can shower properly. My husband is going to help wash my hair later, so i'll hopefully i'll be more 'pen free' later xx

Re: Surgeons pen markings
Hey,
I didn't have many markings on me heehee!!!! The main ones were just dots under my boobs and one in the middle, which after op I couldn't see/ or had come off in surgery.

Hi, ask the nurse when you go for your post op check next week, mine gave me some little wipes to use which worked really well, think they were like skin disinfectant wipes x

Yeah, misszc is right on the alchol gel getting ink off, my pen burst in my bag at work hands were covered in ink came off no problems with my hand gel. Put some on a cotton wool ball/ pad should do the trick! XXX
