ive noticed a few missing through out the day and also the wee wording that moves at the left hand side has either not been there or froze, thought it was just me xx

Hmmmmm can't say I've noticed anything myself. 

Maybe try deleting your cookies and see if that helps?

I've noticed too, and also when I go to insert a smiley, most of them don't load?? Just a. Box with a question mark. 
And I use the I pad ???

There seems to be a problem with avatars and smileys right now. Its affecting lots of forums and not just just ours but the big guys are working on it as I type and it will be sorted ASAP. Xx
