Re: 10 Days to go!
You're not silly at all Lydia. We all get anxious when our date gets close and if everything isn't ticked off on the run up to your BA then its totally understandable that you're going to be concerned babe - so the call should help to reassure you and let you know what's going on. Xx
Re: 10 Days to go!
from now until your BA you will think that your asking silly questions or feeling anxious over nothing but trust me, we have ALL been there so ask away or even if you need to chit chat we are here too xx

Re: 10 Days to go!
Don't worry about those, they just swab your mouth and your groin area. Its nothing invasive Lydia so you've nothing to worry about.
Its a standard test generally for those who work in hospitals or have been in hospital in the last 6 months although some swab all their patients to ensure no-one has MRSA before admitting them to their own hospitals
Nothing to worry about babe. Xx

Re: 10 Days to go!
That's just the 'pre-op jitters' Lydia. Type that into the search box top right of the forum and you'll see you're not alone babe. This is very common on the build up toward the final hurdle to get to your BA.
You'll be fine though babe. We mostly all get the pre-op jitters, its sort of comes hand in hand when having a BA and you may have read also about this being an emotional roller coaster, well it is.. Its full of ups and downs Lydia but the final prize is well worth it gorgeous - I promise

Re: 10 Days to go!
LOL@your nan.
To be honest Lydia, I personally think its so, so important to read the bad sides of this surgery as well as the good. Its VERY important to know that having a BA does not come risk free, so if you've done your research and read up as you're doing if anything were to happen and you needed revision (but let's hope you never do) you'll at least be prepared and know what's going on and how to deal with it.
Always best to be fully informed I think but please do give your nan a hug from me bless her Xx

Re: 10 Days to go!
That's what I said to her! I'd rather know both sides rather than go into this expecting it to be perfect because nothing is perfect she's just old bless her :) difficult at times going through all this with such a huge age gap between me and them need mom to hurry up and get here on Thursday
I'll give her a hug from you I always read her the replies that everyone has posted on here except I won't read this one X

Re: 10 Days to go!
Congratulations Louise!
Lydia, you'll do fine babe, its just a bunch of questions regarding your medical history, some pre-op pics and possibly some tests 'if' felt necessary based on your medical history.
If you're fit and healthy and haven't been in hospital for the last six months then tests 'generally' aren't necessary at all babe.
Let us know how you get on xx

Re: 10 Days to go!
Well why was I so nervous that was ok! I think I made the nurse laugh when she swabbed my groin and I came out with I wish I waxed! Not too bad at all really friendly staff so I'm sure Saturday will be a breeze xx
