Worried
Been a long time since i have been on here but i have literally just took my bra off and noticed what feels like a lump on the top of my left breast. I am going to book to see my surgeon asap but just wondering what peoples thoughts are on this or if they have had anything similar? It sort of goes diagonally from near the chest bone towards near the nipple. And i am not in pain pr anything but it does feel a bit dull x
Re: Worried
I'd make an appointment to see your GP Ballomoryellfruit.
The lump isn't related to your BA so all the surgeon will do is refer you back to your GP, so to save time babe, I'd personally go and see your GP.
It may be something as simple as a breast cyst hun. These are very common but its very important as you know to get any lump that you feel checked out lovely.
Please let us know how things go. I know what its like to worry when you feel a lump in your breast babe so sending big hugs and hoping all is well xx

Re: Worried
I am not convinced that it isnt BA related. I wondering if maybe the top of the implant has started to pull away from my tissue or something but i will make an appointment with both just to be doubly sure =\ but another possibility is that i have lost half a stone so maybe the implant just feel more prevalent?
Re: Worried
aw hun, sorry i can't help but didnt want to read and run.
like cookie said, do go to see your GP and surgeon to get it checked out, and fingers crossed it will be fine xx

Re: Worried
A lump isn't something I've heard of before unless related to someone feeling rippling, but then the implant would be able to be pushed in. (Implants aren't solid) can you push this lump in, is it firm?
Seeing a GP I think they can send you on to a breast specialist - if they feel its necessary and get you scanned for free to see what's going on babe. Xx

Re: Worried
Well the lump isnt hard it is just in an unusual place and i dont know how to describe it really =[ what does a ripple feel like? X
Re: Worried
Rippling can feel lumpy across the breast babe, but you can push against it and it doesn't feel like an actual lump. Running your fingers gently over the breast, you might feel the implant feels lumpy as some women describe, especially after losing weight. But a firm press against the lumpy feel and its not there.
If the lump feels 'pea' like at all it would be best to see your GP babe, I'd see your GP anyway first, because if they feel it does need further investigation babe your GP will do this referral for free.
If you go to see your surgeon and they feel it needs further investigation they're either going to refer you back to your GP or any tests they feel necessary you could be charged for as a private patient babe. Xx

Re: Worried
I felt a lump 2 days after my BA above my nipple area, left it for ages( very stupid) thinking it was gristle, maybe a vein etc, as it was near a vein. Went to the Docs, referred , then ultra sound and mammogram( to be safe) I am in my 40's, so was worried. Anyway all sorted in just over a week, just a cyst, had it drained ( not painful)no problem and the mammogram didn't affect me at all, just told the hospital I had implants. Just had to scan as they drained. Get it checked out Hun x x let us know how you get on.

Re: Worried
Yup, any lumps in the breast that require further investigation will be put on a fast track. This is why I was saying Ballomoryellfruit, that it would be much better to see your GP babe. Re: Worried
Thanks for that everyone. Have to ring tomorrow to try and get an appt with my GP tomorrow evening. Weird thing tho is when i push on it it bounces back into place so i am wondering if it is maybe a rupture or a gel bleed? =\ x
Re: Worried
A rupture doesn't feel like that babe, nor a gel bleed.
The silicone in your implants is 'form stable' so they wouldn't lose their implant shape at all, or bleed from within the barrier shell. xx

Re: Worried
Been to the doctors and she said my left breast feels like it has a few lumps that she feels are cysts but cant exclude anything but from her experience they dont feel suspicious. She has referred me for an ultrasound scan and for an appointment with the breast team. Thanks for your support everyone x x x
