Is it too early for consultations ? Empty Is it too early for consultations ?

Post by Nikkii1989 13th October 2013, 11:55 am

Well ok a little about me and my situation I have two boys and am considering having more children (4 tops mainly because we do want one girl) but were going to start trying next month so I know I won't be having my BA until I'm at least 28, I'm 24 now although I know the smart thing to do would be wait until then I really can't see me waiting that long I just know that the smartest thing for me to do is to not have my BA before pregnancy as that can change them so much and I don't want to have to pay for a revision 1/2 years after initial surgery due to just my impatience. I want to know if it's too early to start having consultations to find out quote (obviously I know the price would increase every year) but to just get a baseline to save to as it's going to take me a while to save too :( just not sure if I'm researching all too early and if the surgeon leaves or moves to a different company then I kind of scupper my own plans really or If I should leave it until a little later and book consultations nearer the time without a baseline figure to aim towards, hope that makes sense

Thank you in advance for all your advice ladies, it's appreciated

Hiya,  I personally wouldn't start having consultations yet, because your boobs will change every time you have a pregnancy.

I think you will be able to get a fair idea on the pricing without going to see a consultant.

I would certainly do research into consultants that I would like to use, but a lot can happen in a few years, so I would keep an open mind.

Good luck with adding to your family!

It's great to start research now hunny, however as for consultations you can go for them to see what a ba involves however as for implant sizes and measurments your boobs may change again after a pregnancy , you may lose or gain weight in the 4 years and that'll have an affect on what a surgeon may have Intionally recommended.

It's great to start saving now though hunny , in an ISA and in 4 years you will be able to save a good amount. You're looking In the region of around £4,000 to £5/6,000 if including an uplift maybe a tad less or a bit higher there is a thread to see how much people have paid.

I think if you really want to have a look around to get a better idea of the whole procedure etc then yes why not...

However like you said your looking to have your BA after children and in four years a lot can change! Such as the surgeons moving, your breasts changing (and therefore the implant, placement etc will most likely to be different in the years to come)

The price may not go up due to increased awareness of a BA, improvements into the way it is performed, the implants themselves and this could lead to increased competition so price may be more competitive!

So personally unless you do want to go just to get an idea you may aswell wait a while and start your saving... At the moment your looking at a base price of £4000/45000 ... Nearer the time you could go and see what sort of your looking at bit you would have already saved a lot :)

Agree with LJR, good luck growing your family xx

Thank you all lovely ladies, I think I might just be being a little impatient lol, I've been reading through all the threads on here (yes I've been doing a lot of reading lol) yeah that was the ball park figure I was aiming towards I'm quite lucky as I seem to gain and lose the same cup size I go from b to d then back to b they don't necessarily change in shape but I do agree a lot can change in that time and I know I won't be changing weight too much as I'm maintaining after doing all my losing this year lol.

I understand the procedure already thanks to a lot of your lovely surgery and boob diaries and that's given me a insight to more of the emotional side as well. Just hard to save when it seems so far off I guess

Patience is a virtue and all that, thank you ladies for your advice :)

Patience is most definatly a virtue!! A BA is very much an emotional roller coaster. I think it's great that your doing so much research before you decide on surgeon/clinic. If only more ladies did that! 4 years does seem like a lifetime away, but it really will come around very quickly.

I agree with mrs ball re: cost! And even though you say your boobs haven't really changed with your previous pregnancies. There is a possibility that they may do this time! Mine changed dramatically after my last pregnancy! So maybe just do your research now and start having consultations a bit closer to wanting surgery.

Good luck with your boobie journey hun xx

I'm with the girls babe. When you're ready to have your BA after having your children, that's the best time to go and see what the plan offered to you might be.

You may go now, be told you need a BA, be all prepared to have that BA and then 2 kids later go back to find you need an uplift too and that's just going to leave you in a spin hun.

You can use the time waiting to research... Honestly babe, you can't do enough. In that time you'll probably find the surgeon you want to do your op, or a couple that have come in as some you're interested in, rather than to have a surgeon chosen for you.

You can follow their patients then by googling online and finding out all the feedback that you can the surgeon... I've actually been stalking a surgeon haha, for a while now and have no doubt I want him to do my surgery when I need to have these implants changed....and that's not for a long time hopefully but I STILL keep a close eye on his patients and how they're getting on..... Research, research, research babe.

And don't worry too much about cost, women are actually paying the same now or less than I did when I had my first BA almost 8 years ago! So cost may not change as much as you think hun. Xx
