Scars
Hi,
am just wondering what all you lovely ladies would recommend for using on your incisions/scars when you had the go ahead from the surgeon to massage/treat them. ?

Re: Scars
My surgeon just said to use something like E45 cream and massage them twice a day for 3 months. I think it is more the massaging that has the effect of breaking down the sczr tissue rather than the cream itself. I am sure someone more knowledgeable will be along soon to help you more.

Re: Scars
Ive heard that you can buy really expensive creams or products like bio oil? I don't think you actually need to use anything though and they will still heal nicely :) xx

Its a tenner but it lasts for ages you don't need much. Ive been using it on my boobies since a week post BA BUT NOT ON INCISIONS YET - need to wait for surgeon approval for that. I just wanna get rid of a couple stretch marks I have. But Bio-oil is meant to be good for the incisions as well when you're allowed products on them xx

Re: Scars
The girls are right lovely... It the massage motion (finger tips doing circular motions up and down the scar) that is what's going to break down the scar tissue tissue for you, but an oil or moisturiser (after approval from your surgeon) will help make the massage so much easier - Bio-oil is great for this and a little goes a long way. Re: Scars
Someone has mentioned silicone strips to put on scars after, but I know nothing about these to be honest........ This is something I was going to ask too. There's so much you don't think of........ Xx

Re: Scars
Silicone strips are a very expensive scar treatment and not necessary at all unless your scars are keloid or wide which doesn't generally happen after a BA.
So unless you had good reason to spend all that money on the silicone sheets/gel, they aren't necessary at all.... Nothing at all is needed to help scars as said earlier in the above posts, but the bio-oil which inexpensive does help to make the massage so much easier. Xxx
