Confirmed Rupture
Hi .....just to let you know I found out for sure today that I have a rupture in my left boob. It was such a relief. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry...I did both. I was happy that it was the implant and not the other thing that was at the back of my mind...but then sad that the implants I have had for 20 yrs have to be removed.
I also found out that the surgeon who did my boob job 20 yrs ago, had died tragically a year after doing my implants, leaving behind three young children....
Now, I want to move forward.
The leakage is being contained in the capsule, so I am hoping to have them replaced asap and have booked to see two plastic surgeons specialising in breast surgery.
So, am feeling optimistic and positive that I will love my new boobs like I did my first boobs.
xxxx

Re: Confirmed Rupture
Really happy there wasn't anything sinister there babe. I know how awful it can be waiting on knowing.
Sad though that you have a rupture but its good that the silicone is still contained in the shell so hopefully you can just have a straight forward replacement.
Good luck with the consultations babe and please let us know how you get on.
20 years with CUIs though is some good going babe! The average for implants is 10 years, so you've done really well to get twice as much out of yours! Xx

Re: Confirmed Rupture
Hi Girls.... and thank you all for your support and lovely comments. Anyway guess what...I'm booked in for a consultation next week. I want to move quickly now and have them out as soon as I find a good surgeon for new ones. I'm just not sure whether to have the round or tear drops...not sure what I had last time but they did look so lovely....still do...so I have been very lucky...but hopefully I will feel very confident with the new surgeon.
..can anyone tell me how long it took until you could get back to work after the op....i didn't work the last time I had mine done so I can't remember how I felt afterwards...I just remember the skin coloured velcro support bra lol...but I want to be prepared for how long off work...also having spoken to the nurse...she's mentioned...drips. I didn't have drips....I don't like the sound of them....what are they like, they sound really uncomfortable....ohhh and they do allergen ones....are they the ones with a 25yr guarantee, I forgot to ask her.
thanks...xxxx

Time off work, two weeks if possible! Ten days you may get away with... Everyone's different though!
When you say drips do you mean drains? Xx

Re: Confirmed Rupture
Hi...mmmm I was thinking it would be about two weeks...hope it's no more than 2 weeks I think I will have to take holiday leave because I wasn't going to tell anyone at work. ..
and it could have been drains lol...I think it's to do with blood but I don't understand because I never had them the last time.
I am going to see My Caddy and Mr Dujon. Anyone heard of either of them. Mr Caddy is at Thorbury and Mr Dujon is at Claremont...both in Sheffield which is practically on the doorstep (a couple of miles away)...so I just thought it would be easy for travelling back home after the operation (assuming I like the surgeon) and the surgeons are plastic breast surgeons and BAAP registered too.
Can I ask what furry Brazilians are:smil:

Re: Confirmed Rupture
The likelyhood is when having revision surgery is that you'll have drains due to the higher risk of infection babe. I wouldn't worry about them at all because they can't be felt and will be removed before you're sent home.
Furry Brazzilian implants are a polyeurothane implant. These implants have a shell that actually fixes to the tissue and embeds itself in there an of all the implants, these ones have the lowest risk of CC. They're a very good choice of implant babe. Xx
