Anyone had nipple surgery?
Hello again ladies,
I've been obsessing over my nipples yet again lately.
They're pretty flat, I have to give them a sneaky rub before the other half gets to them, though sometimes he gets to them before I get a chance (always a cringeworthy moment for me).
Every time I do an internet search about the subject, the emphasis is always on inverted nipples. There's very little on 'flat' nipples. I was wondering if anyone else has them & is as naffed off & as inadequate feeling about them as I am. They look normal when rubbed or cold, but always very quickly revert back to the flat position (mind you they never stick out a great deal). I find them a constant embarrassment & source of feeling 'less than normal'.
I bought the Avent Nipplette a while ago, but have found the following problems:
1) It draws out part of the areola as well as the nipple because the cup is pretty big (for me anyway), as such it looks sort of deformed when I take them off;
2) It causes my nipple/areola skin to crack & flake a lot even when using Vaseline (really attractive).
I've been wanting corrective nipple surgery for a long time now, but it's a case of finances. After having forked out loads for BA, of course it's all the more galling to face the prospect of forking out yet more cash (which I can't really afford) on something else.. But if knew I would finally be happy & confident about them.. I would seriously consider scheduling it in for sometime in the next couple of years. Size-wise I'm much happier with my boobs, but I still feel utterly self concious about them because of my nipples.
Apologies in advance... x

Don't apologise for asking a question Corrina
I doubt any woman's nipples are permanently erect babe and reacting to the cold or stimulation is how they should be
Do you want your nipples to be permanently erect hun? Xx

Re: Anyone had nipple surgery?
Inverted and flat nipples are very common actually-as a midwife I see waaaay more nipples then I need to some days lol. Like Cookie said it is very uncommon to have erect nipples constantly; if anything women whose nipples do tend to harden more than others actually don't like it, particularly when they how through bras and clothes. You do sound very normal in that they are flat, and then respond with stimulation so it doesn't sound like anything you need to be worried about!
Besides, most women don't have hard nipples prior to 'a session'-it's your partners job to make them hard ;) xx

Mine don't stick out all the time. If it's cold or if the get played with Then they stick out but not all the time so I think it's normal to I wouldn't want sticky out nips all the time heehee

Re: Anyone had nipple surgery?
Thanks ladies. It's not that I want them erect all the time, but shouldn't they protrude a bit normally (when not erect?). I know lots of women have flat or inverted nipples, but I hate them. Whenever I see topless women on telly, in films or magazines, even embarrassing bodies (when they did a breast check with a roller derby team), every single one of them had nipples that are out (not erect, just out), in the multitude of before & after BA pics I've seen etc. I feel like a freak. I have no desire to go topless anywhere, but I wouldn't mind not being so self concious in a swimming baths changing room, that I can just change without embarrassingly doing it under my towel. And more importantly, I'd like to not have to sneakily rub them myself before the other half gets to them or cringe if he touches them before I do.
I dunno.. I just hate them & always think, when I look at them, that they're not 'proper nipples', as ridiculous as that sounds! Xx

Re: Anyone had nipple surgery?
Also with nipple surgery you risk losing sensation permanently, which defeats the object. I would stay as you are x

Re: Anyone had nipple surgery?
I've already lost nipple sensation from the Ba surgery, I'm 15 months post op & still have none whatsoever. I know people say it can take up to 2 years, but this far on, I'm not banking on it any more..
Perhaps the problem is more in my head after all, but all I know, is I look different to the majority of other women. That's just how I feel about it.. Xx

You only look different to a few women's nipples that you've seen. For example, if you went to a shopping centre and every woman showed you their nipples, you'd be very surprised that a lot are just like you. It's normal x

Re: Anyone had nipple surgery?
Mine are pretty flat when warm And then pretty erect when cold! , nipples are meant to be like that not erect the whole time, women on tv, magazines who are topless are just normal reacting to the cold air, or for magazines shoots have been known to rub ice on them to give that desired look!

Re: Anyone had nipple surgery?
Hi hun.
It sounds like your nips are like mine. Quite flat usually and whilst they do erect when cold or touched, it seems like a bit irregular. Also with mine, one might errect when the other doesnt lol.
I wouldnt let it bother you though, everyones are different and remember you oh loves you for who u are regardless of what your nips look like or behaves. Try not to worry, I dont let it bother me necessarily.
Just thought Id let you know that your not the only one this is happening to. Lol.

Re: Anyone had nipple surgery?
Haha, yes mine do that too.. one out & one in.. what's that all about?!
I tell you what, it's not the sort of thing you ask your friends or any women you know generally.. as much as women can talk about anything normally, I've never felt comfortable enough to ask any woman I know face to face, 'how do your nipples behave?'. I've always been so embarrassed about them, I've always been too ashamed to ever bring it up.
I'm so thankful to everyone on here, I really am starting to believe that I'm not such the freak I thought I was. Certainly it doesn't seem worth spending about another 2k on having them permanently outed anyway. I've been with my other half for nearly 4 years now... Looks like it really is time to put my neurotic nipple complex to bed once & for all.
Thanks ladies Xx:bighug:

My right one does that too. Just lazy I think and doesn't like to stand to attention unless told!
