HOW SOON DID YOU GO BACK TO WORK (DESK JOB)
Hi Ladies,
I have sod all holiday left and am having my BA on a Wednesday and thinking of going back to work on the Monday (I get a lift so no driving involved).
When did you all go back? I know everyone reacts differently but just want to get a general idea xx

Re: HOW SOON DID YOU GO BACK TO WORK (DESK JOB)
Its 'generally' a week babe. But that can't be written in stone. There's no way of us saying how you're going to cope after surgery?
Some women heal really well with no problems at all and are back at work within a week no problem...others can take anything up to two weeks to get back to work.
Just because you're sitting at a desk all day babe doesn't mean you'll be definitely be OK to go back within a week although the probability of that happening is high.. But of you're not feeling good, sitting at a desk all day as easy as it sounds just won't be possible for some. Xx

Re: HOW SOON DID YOU GO BACK TO WORK (DESK JOB)
Im a desk jockey. I took 1wk holiday, but then also did another 2 working from home, and it was HARD. Actually trying to concentrate was really difficult. When I did go back into the office after 3wks, simple things like opening heavy doors, reaching for mugs etc were still tricky. Even now I still get aches and pains in my Lefty where Im not moving it as much as might right if Im not typing, just leaning on my arm rest. Its different for everyone though, you might be fine after a couple days.

I'm back at work today and feel like I need another few days, I work with children though not a desk job and I'm 10 days post op today. I have had an uplift and also find the lack of arm strength the most annoying!

I have a desk job and will be going back to work 18 days post op. I'm currently 3 days post op and cant imagine going back to work in 2 days time even tho I'm not in pain. if you can i would book a week off just to be sure but you'll not really know until you are post op, everyone recovers at different speeds.

I'm taking a week off and working from home for the following week.
How soon did everyone drive after theirs? I'll need to drive in week three, now I'm a bit worried.x

I had the op on a Thursday and went back on the next tuesday so 5 days in total. Did use pain killers and was sore but i had no option as had no annual leave left. Was driving on day 6 i think but i have an automatic right now. I wish i could have taken a week but had no option.

Like the others have said, you don't realise just how much you use your arms! I am a housewife and was straight away on light duties! but I could choose how much I did.
I have found silly things to be difficult - I can ride my bike no problem but at nearly five weeks post op I still find it uncomfortable to open a jar and mash potatoes for example!

I'm having 2 weeks off and hope it's enough, I'm a hairdresser. So there is a lot of arm lifting involved. I have just spaced my bookings when I get back..... On 2 of the days I work I do a 13 hour shift...... I hope I'm o.k........ X

Re: HOW SOON DID YOU GO BACK TO WORK (DESK JOB)
i had 2 and a half weeks off after my BA and for me i really needed this recovery time, i couldn't have imagined going back less than 2 weeks after. but as all of the girls have said, everyone is very different. I was ok to drive about 8/9 days po but 5th gear and reverse was tricky. Even though it is cosmetic surgery it is still an operation so your body still needs time to recover. take as much time off as you can is my advice xxx

Re: HOW SOON DID YOU GO BACK TO WORK (DESK JOB)
That's for this ladies. I'm definitely working from home week two. I'll just take things really easy. It's going to be so weird being there and not doing anything to help out around the house. Usually I do pretty much everything and hubby just sort of helps here and there! Oh well as we say its for the greater good! Need to relax to make sure it all heals properly!x

Re: HOW SOON DID YOU GO BACK TO WORK (DESK JOB)
on a similar note, for the girlies who do have a desk job, although its not necessarily heavy lifting and so forth, how did you manage to cover up the fact the you were more careful opening doors, etc? im wondering how obvious it may be, not so much in the sense that they'll know ive had boobs but it might look strange if im struggling to just open the filing cabinet lol!
im planning on taking 2 weeks off when i eventually get round to having it done so im hoping this'll be sufficient recovery time for the first part xx
