Yeah high impact is what you need. The M&S ones are popular, also Shock Absorbers. Shock Absorbers are my favourites x

Hi girls
If you're after the newest m&s zip up frontsports bra the style code is T336470. I saw it at Trafford store a few weeks ago but my local stores don't have it so got the sales assistant to write down the code for me so can order it and have it delivered to local store

Re: Sports bras
I was looking at the shock absorbers today but there are so many different models. Do you know what type or model I should look for?Princess_x wrote:Yeah high impact is what you need. The M&S ones are popular, also Shock Absorbers. Shock Absorbers are my favourites x
I went on a bra shopping tour today with my 2 rice bags but I didn't find anyone that was ok.
Or do you girls think I will be ok with 2 macoms and then buy more bras after 2-3 weeks? Or is it good to come to the hospital with some different models and sizes for the surgeon to choose from?

Re: Sports bras
hey hun,
i didnt get on well with the m&s high impact ones, as the cups are very defined in their shape and if thats not the shape of your boobs, then what
i also found they had seams across the boobs which i didnt like as it can show under some tops.
what i do LOVE though are the extra high impact sportsbras (nonwired of course, but they also come in wired, so careful when buying) from m&s, they also come in twopack same as the high impact ones, and they are honestly (apart from my macom which is still heavenly to sleep in) the comfiest things ever!
not a fan of the zip up ones as you can't adjust the length of the shoulder straps, so again you need to be a certain length to fit into them.
but yes, the extra high impacts ones from m&s are my favs.
isabell: yes you'll be absolutely fine with your 2 macoms until your boobs are a bit more rested and you can try on some other sportsbras, thats what i did too! takes the guess work out of it

Re: Sports bras
Hi isabell, I'm sticking with my 2 macoms until I'm a few weeks post op. I think we will be wasting our money to go buying bras now as you just don't know what size to get.... I brought a genie bra too which suppose to be good after surgery. They did them in 8, 10, 12, 14, so it's a bit better in picking a size.... It's very soft..... It's pink. And so much of the money goes to breast cancer....... So I've just got 3 bras until I get sized few weeks after......

Re: Sports bras
just to add isabell, as long as you've got the back size right on your macom, that is the easiest one to put on after surgery. i had loads of other sportsbras with me as well but the nurse chose to put me in the macom.
its also lovely and stretchy and soft (but firm) as its made for tender post op boobs :)
you'll be fine with them!
and if you're not sure about back size, order in two different ones and return the unused ones.
I for example started off with a medium macom which was great while i was still swollen, but then i needed to downsize to a small macom after 2 weeks or so, and that one i still use to sleep in :)

Re: Sports bras
Ok, thanks. I order 2 macoms then. Most of you girls seems to love that bra so it feels like a safe choice for us that don't know our size yet.
I'm 31 inch around ribcage but I'm NOT a "small size girl" more medium size. I always buy medium in everything.
Do you think I will be safe if I buy a 32 and a 34?

Re: Sports bras
hi isabell, macoms only come in XS, S, M, L etc, but they do correspond to back sizes.
if you're 31 around your ribcage a '32' should be good.
their Small is meant to fit ribcages from 27-31, and their Medium is for ribcages 31 - 35 inches.
with one of each you're definitely on the safe side depending on swelling.
just keep all the receipts etc so you can return one size if necessary, and get another one in the size you need.
also if you buy them on the macom medical website and type MYBREAST into the promo code box, it will give you 15% off the price :)

Re: Sports bras
I bought a triumph extreme and 2 macoms before my ba and was given 2 post op bras from the hospital. They're low cut with adjustable straps at the shoulders and front fastening so haven't used the ones I bought at all. Might be worth checking to see if your hospital provides them x

Re: Sports bras
I have to buy mine before surgery but I don't understand why all hospitals doesn't provide them? The can just add a little extra to the price and it would be so much easier for both us and them. I can imagine how many emails they have to answer from patient who is asking what bra they should buy..misty23 wrote:I bought a triumph extreme and 2 macoms before my ba and was given 2 post op bras from the hospital.
