Sensation returning
I am nearly 3 weeks post op and only have sensation in top of both boobs and my left nipple. My right lacks any sensation except right at the top. I am getting tingling all the time in both boobies but wondered how long it took for your sensation to return and at what point u accept it probably isn't going to?
Xx

Re: Sensation returning
I really wouldnt worry at 3 weeks post op! It can take up to a year for full sensation to return hun! Very few don't regain all sensation, but yes it can happen.

It can take anything up to 2 years for full sensation to return but anything from months to a year to 2 years hunny x

Re: Sensation returning
Hi Hun obviously you're further down the line in recovery than me but just wanted to say my sensation last day or so has gone from feeling like I have had stinging nettles rubbed all over the bottom part of my boobs. My nipples are pretty much still numb but from the, feeling like blocks of wood after surgery most of the sensation of the skin around the nipple has returned except for the bottom inside for both boobs which is actually where the stinging sensation is the worst. My mum had her BA a good 3 years ago and by about a year her nipples regained all sensation. One side quicker than the other xx

Re: Sensation returning
Hi, I'm 14 months post op & still have absolutely no nipple sensation.... looks like I'll be one of the 'up to 2 years' ladies.. if at all. I'm not banking on it after all this time. I'd still do it again anyway. It'd be lovely if it came back, but it wont be the end of the world. 3 weeks is hardly anything, they'll go through a range of feelings, mixtures of tingling/stinging & numbness. Sounds like most people's sensation returns to normal in less than 2 years though! Think I'm one of the unlucky ones!
