I am wondering about the whole tired thing following the op, as having 2 young kids I'm no stranger to being tired but am wondering if this is normal tiredness or the effects of operation? I got to sleep at 10.30 last night and then awake at 6.30 so a good 8 hours, maybe a bit broken sleep, I still feel tired and hubbie has said ok to come back to bed so hoping to get more sleep in! Am I just being normal tired but taking advantage of my husband being here!?! He goes back to work next week so no extra sleeps for me then!!!

I'm 12 days post op today!!!

Did any of u feel tired still at this point? Xxx

I kept nodding off for about a week. Your body has just been through a major operation, give it time to recover.

Are you eating well, and drinking lots? And having a little walk around? Or are you maybe doing too much during the day?

I was tired for about 2 weeks, maybe more, but I was naughty and know sometimes I over did it, which was silly. I think it's the body having a trauma , drugs, anti climax of it all( initial build up, then done, brain can rest), so just go with it, if u need sleep and can have it then take it x

I'm completely fine hun - I honestly don't feel tired at all now - all back to normal working from home - with just morning boob which is uncomfy. Not getting such a great sleep at the minute either as now well and truly fed up of being on my back! lol! I think we're all soo different with our healing though - some people on here advised that i would not be up for doing V fest next weekend - and i would have been 16 days post op - and they were going by how they felt - so they were tired too - V is just for the day; but if i carry on like I am then I'll be fine. I've got a 12 yr old, 2yr old, and 4 yr old too so maybe I'm just constantly knackered anyway and my knackered is actually my normal! lol xx Also maybe you are just relishing hubs home and climbing back in to bed for a snuggle? I would proably be the same - and you know what they say...more sleep you have the more tired you are - or the less you do the more tired you feel. xx

Thanks guys, I am drinking and eating well, and have been back to normal really in day times doing stuff, but having hubbie here is great, maybe I'm taking advantage! I've just had another hour and my eyes still feel tired, in fact my poor husband is exhausted! I just wanted to make sure I do get enough rest when I can.

I have been doing one day doing stuff, then one day resting more.

Crispybacon that's great ur recovery is going so well hun, it's surprising isn't it, we have the build up beforehand and in our heads it's going to be so much worse!!!

My 2 year old just joined me in bed, gotta love them!

Thanks for ur advice ladies.

I had an afternoon nap for the first 6 days post-op, since then I have been ok with going to bed at normal time 10:30-11pm ish and waking up around 8am, yesterday I was lucky and had a lie-in until 11am!!

I think it's normal to feel tired though when your body has experienced a trauma, it needs the extra time to repair itself, and it does this best during sleep time! So just sleep as and when you need it. When your hubby goes back to work next week maybe try going to bed a bit earlier to compensate in the mornings?

Its completely normal KJ Hug

Some women feel fine after a week and get themselves back to normality, for others its going to take longer. I know after my second surgery I was over the worst after 2 weeks, but it was another week after that before I could get my life back to normality.

So don't worry babe, you listen to your body and rest when you need to.

Whist your bodies resting... Its healing. Xx

I am still dozing off in the afternoon for a quick 40 winks but not sure if it is the monotonous sound of my kids playing on their Xbox lolol
