Post by Princessjo30 6th August 2013, 8:19 pm

Does anyone else feel really huge since having their BA?

From right under my boobs my belly just sticks out so much, it's really getting me down. On day 3 my friend have me some milk of magnesia and i went to the loo the following day and have been each day since then but my belly is still massive.

I don't think I'm weeing as much as I'm drinking either, I'm trying to drink loads of water but don't seem to be going to the loo enough gggrrrr

I'm back at work tomorrow and I've just tried my trousers on and their really tight nope

I still feel massive 3 weeks on! I'm absolutely hating it. Think I'm still a bit clogged up. Hopefully it'll both pass soon for us lovely. Just one of those things sad smile kiss Xx

I've heard about this Jo, 'the buddah belly' as i've heard it called, think it is normal after the GA! Try not to get too upset, drink lots of water and hopefully it won't hang around too long. xxx

Yup, definitely the Buddah belly Jo.

It can get you down I know hun. I felt size months pregnant after my BA my stomach looked huge!

Good news is that it will settle down hun and when it does, you'll see that your boobs actually then make your waist look smaller!

Fab trade off hey! yahoo

I could eat healthier probably to help like I was at the start but having time off work and nothing to do is causing me to have often trips to the fridge at home haha. Boredom eating is THE WORST xx

That is a good trade of cookie dance

I've not been snacking really since my BA due to the antibiotics as I have to have them 1 hour before food and 2 hours after food so I have a 3 hour gap between each meal where I can't eat.

I've started slimming world too today so that should help the situation x

The Buddah belly isn't caused by 'weight gain' hun, so I wouldn't worry about it being caused by snacking or anything you're eating at all. The skinniest of girls could eat nothing and still might get a Buddah belly!

Buddah bellies are caused as a side effect from the GA. its just bloating and it does subside.

This thread might help understand about weight gain and BA's [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I think the pain killers don't help either prob combined with the antibiotics. I hate that bloated feeling, makes u feel fat and then I end up eating more! X

I have eaten well today and my stomach now looks 6 months pregnant, it's flippin massive. I hope it goes down in morning! I used to get this before the BA too, think its when I eat too much bread, especially white bread!
It's hard not being able to do exercise.
Hopefully we will feel better in a few weeks.

Another here with a bloated tummy, had my surgery a week ago.

Bearing in mind that I had a six pack pre surgery, it is definitely connected to the surgery.  I have just kept up with my healthy eating, and presuming my body will settle down in the next couple of weeks.

Even though it is not my greatest look ever, it is a small price to pay, loving my new boobs.  Even better, today was glorious and I spent a pleasant few hours sunbathing, bliss!
