Soo itchy!
These bandages are starting to drive me insane with the itching on the bra line under the front mainly - not the cuts, just where the heat, tightness of bandages and bra straps are all pressed together! Is it going to be like this until my post op appointment a week Monday?
Other than that no pain but have rested the entire day

I've read that pirieteze allergy tablets can help with the itching I think? Glad you've had a nice relaxing day! Xx

Re: Soo itchy!
I had the same being taped up like a mummy all over my boobs above and below, I know how itchy and annoying it is. Try not to think about it too much though Hun (I know easier said than done) but it will get better, just persevere and remember it'll all be worth it in the end ! X

Re: Soo itchy!
Totally sympathise with the itching. My last steritapes have gone crunchy and itch like mad. Not a very ladylike look wandering around scratching like a monkey lol

Re: Soo itchy!
Ohhhh sweetheart, the itching is awful. The anti-histamines will help lots and although the itching is on the underside of the breast, laying icepacks over the tops of your boobs (never near your incisions) will also help lots too.
Hope it eases for you soon babe. Xx

Re: Soo itchy!
I didn't actually Hun only because anti histamines make me feel a bit weird I remembered - so put up with the intermittent itching - it's calmed right down now again though...reckon it's just now and then xx

Re: Soo itchy!
Crispy - there are two types of antihistamines - one contains cetirizine (which can make some people drowsy) and the other contains loratadine (non drowsy). We buy Asda's own brand and find they work (my husband takes them because of hayfever and itchy eyes). We also take these two weeks before going on holiday to prevent mozzie bites.
It's worth a try sweetie - anything to stop the itching x

Re: Soo itchy!
If you're unable to take anti histimes then ice packs laid over the tops of your boobs (never near incisions) work just as well. Xx
Re: Soo itchy!
Cookie, why shouldn't the ice packs go near the incision?
I had terrible itching on my tummy incision last night and laid an ice pack on it for about an hour, I did have my binder on though but am panicking now that I have done something wrong.

Re: Soo itchy!
Ice restricts the blood flow hun, so will hinder your healing.
You're fine don't worry.... Just don't apply the ice on your incisions again babe. Xx
