Had my first consultation....
Morning ladies, so i arrived at Highgate Hospital yesterday afternoon and was greeted by Mr Adamo's assistant who was lovely and despite me feeling extremely nervous, made me feel at ease.
After a short wait i was greeted by Mr Adamo. After about 5 mins i was sooooo relaxed (which is not like me). I usually know straight away weather i can take to someone or not and i definitely can say he made me feel really good.
So i tried on 360cc with the special bra and top and i loved them. He said this would take me to a full D perhaps DD. He said i can have the choice of overs or unders or dual plane? and i chose the Allergan Natrelle High profile implants.
cant think what else to write as all the excitement has made me go blank lol

He also doesnt use any bandages or special bras, just disolvable stitches which are covered up. He said i can wear a normal bra providing its not push up or underwired at first which i thought was great....means i can sneak a peak straight away

Re: Had my first consultation....
To be honest ive researched Surgeons until i could research no more and i had a good feeling about Mr Adamo,so i went with my gut feeling and i love him.
I am going to read through the plan when it comes in the post today and spend a few weeks doing more research etc before i decide anything else.
I don't want to jump into booking anything until im 100% on everything. Mainly to decide placement too?

Re: Had my first consultation....
Hi becky, glad your consultation went well, it's so exciting to start the journey!! :)
The only thing I would say is that he said you can choose your placement, that's confusing because he is the expert! So if you do really like him I would suggest going to see maybe two more surgeons who will recommend wether they would go under or over? Normally surgeons go under the muscle if there is very little breast tissue and in most cases overs are the first choice unless this doesn't suit the individual :) xxx

Re: Had my first consultation....
I agree with with Jennifer babe. I think a surgeon should commit to a placement because They feel its the best one for you. They should take full responsibility as the expert to choose the surgery plan for you and not pass that responsibility on to you.
It really would be a good idea lovely to see at least one other surgeon.
Glad you thought you had a good experience with Mr Adamo though. Xx

Re: Had my first consultation....
hi hun, glad you had a good consultation and seem to have found your surgeon! :)
i do agree with jennifer and cookie, he should be the one advising you on placement hun.
i would suggest you read through the different placements and what their pros and cons are, and then book in for a second consultation with your surgeon to decide this and the size.
maybe what he meant to say to you was that you have enough breast tissue for either placement? but definitely do make sure to ask him what he recommends and why.
and the reason why should be that it is the placement best suited to your body, and not just because its the surgeon's preference for doing procedures.
you're well on your way to new boobies hun, and any more questions just ask away here! x

Re: Had my first consultation....
Thanks girls, Yeah i didn't word it very well. I said i wanted them to look and feel natural and he said i had enough tissue to go over and that's what he recommends for what i want them to look and feel like.
He asked if id rather get the D cup i wanted and have them look a little more fake or would i rather settle for a smaller implant and have a more natural look. i opted for the bigger implant as something i wanted was that upper fullness and he said this would be more achievable with a larger implant.
Does anyone know that if what we discussed in the consultation is final unless i go back again,as if i decide to go with him i really don't want to pay and travel all that way to discuss size if he can change it on the day?
any advice x

Re: Had my first consultation....
Unless its a last minute panic after sizing I really advise changing on the day. Sure.... Its possible 'if they have the differing sizes of implants in stock' on the day, and that shouldnt be a problem if they can do that, but it would be best as you have time before surgery to have another consultation if you're unsure. Xx
Re: Had my first consultation....
I guess im just worried as from having nothing to having something will be a shock. I cant imagine what i will look like with boobs!!! lol
when i tried on the bra and implants i had the biggest grin on my face,i couldnt believe the difference. i just really really want to avoid that fake stuck on look. I guess he knows whats best for my body...

Re: Had my first consultation....
No its not final if you don't want it to be... When I first met my surgeon we decided on 410cc. However once I booked I went back to see him and we spoke more in depth and I decided to go for the 460ccs for a number of reasons I wont go in to now!!
So if you do book with him you he will have your notes of what you spoke about on the day, but seeing as you walked away not 100% if sounds like? then you can always go and see him again to ensure your having the right placement etc for you, it helped put my mind at ease doing this! If you are confident that you are going over then if you felt comfortable you wouldn't need to go and see him again if you didn't want to x

Re: Had my first consultation....
He will do hun... If you're looking for a natural look you can get that from partials or overs. You'd actually be hard pushed to know who had which placement from looking at the avatars here wouldn't you. This is because the right placement is chosen.
Choosing implants which are too large for your body would be the only risk you have of not getting that natural look, because you have enough breast tissue to go over the muscle so that's not a problem, so if you're unsure about sizes then do talk it through more indepth with your surgeon babe. Xx

Re: Had my first consultation....
Well its not too much difference, if you like the 340cc then that's good... the advice on this forum is to always go for the 'look' you like rather then focusing on size! :) maybe make the 360 rice boobs too just so you can see the slight difference xx

Re: Had my first consultation....
Any size difference is going to make a visible difference. If it didnt it wouldn't be worth the manufacturers making the different sizes which is why its important to take your time and choose what you feel is right for you. I only reduce by 50CCs and it made a massive difference hun, so don't be fooled into thinking its just a little... When in your body it is a lot.
Maybe try walking around for a while with the 360s and see how you feel. Wearing a white t-shirt or vest is the best way of getting an idea of how the size might look on you and another lady here came up with a fab idea of getting someone to actually take pics of you so you can actually see what the size looks like from a different angle. Xx

Re: Had my first consultation....
Getting my hub to take pics on my phone was what decided things for me.....and now I have them with me all the time and can't stop looking at them and imagining them in my bikini when I go on hols!
And although there was only 30cc difference between the sizes I was choosing from, the slightly bigger one, although not massively different in size, seemed to give a tad more definition/fullness.
I would ditto what the other girls have said and get another consultation to try sizes again...and take a few pics

Re: Had my first consultation....
Ive heard on here its roughly 100cc that takes you up a cup size but not sure how accurate that is because again we are all different?!
Good luck in your next consultation, definitely a good idea so your sure in your own mind xxx

Re: Had my first consultation....
I would forget trying to predict a size based on CCs per cup size, which varies greatly from woman to woman, the smaller the woman the less CCs needed to achieve a cup size, the larger the woman the more CCs needed to achieve a cup size. So there is no such thing as guaranteed CCs per cup size.
Focus on the 'look' you're hoping to achieve Becky. Take pictures and you and your surgeon will find it far easier to read from the same page.

Re: Had my first consultation....
If you wanted the fake look, the augmented I guess but choosing a woman with 'real' boobs will still give the surgeon the look your after so that would be fine :) xx

beckys88 wrote:is it best to find the look i want by looking at real boobs or augmented ones? x
It doesn't matter Becky. Its all about the 'look' some women who have augmented boobs are so natural you'd never know!
So forget real and augmented lovely. Just focus on the 'look'. Mens mags such as Nuts and Zoo is a good place to look as well looking through gossip columns of celebs in bikinis. Also we have a thread with links of before and after pics as a sticky for newbies in the General Breast Augmenation section of the forum.
Whatever size, shape and look you like, they're the pics you want to save and show your surgeon lovely. It really doesn't matter if they're augmented or not. What matters is that you like them. Xx
Re: Had my first consultation....
You would need to make sure that the person was about the same build as you as well.
It is so hard trying to decide on size. I've got my second consult for sizing on 7th. I'm taking my Hubby too for a second opinion.
The idea of taking pics on phone is great, as can look afterwards and compare easily from different angles. It's one thing looking in the mirror but a picture can give a completely different perspective.
I think you also have to be clear on whether you want the fake look or the natural look and the surgeon will know what the maximum size your body can take.
As loads of people have said it all depends on your own body dimensions as to what the over all end result will be. It is exciting though trying all the different sizes on and seeing what they look like. Trying them all on makes me inpatient to get them done!! October is a long time away!x
