Worries over OH's new job.
So my OH has been told he needs to work in London for 3 months which is great to put on his CV and he's hoping it will land him a permanent job at the end of it but the hours are longer given we live in Southampton so at the mo he's leaving at about 6am and getting back around 9pm.
My BA is in September and I was relying on him to walk our dog whilst I recover but it looks like that would be out of the question considering how many hours he will be out of the house and it would'nt be fair to expect him to walk our dog after that. My next option is to have my sister do it and I know she wouldn't mind doing it but she's already taking a week off work to be with me post BA so I'd feel like I'm taking the p**s slightly.
Not sure why I posted this, I guess I just needed to get it down in words that just when it was looking good and I had a good plan in place, its all gone to pot a little bit.
Anyways, I'm still very much looking forward to my BA date and am phoning to arrange my 3rd consult with surgeon to go over sizes and implants a little more. Roll on 4th of September baby :) xx

Re: Worries over OH's new job.
Aww I know how you feel, my boyfriend recently has a new job working 8-6 but his commute is an hour so he leaves at 745 and doesn't get back until 7 at the earliest, I do miss him but he's loving his new job!
I know it feels like taking the much asking your sister to take the dog but it looks like its your only option really, have you got any neighbours with dogs that you could ask? You could say you've hurt your back? I'm sure she will understand and after a few days you might even be able to have a little walk too but not hold the lead?
Good idea to book another date to see your surgeon, it helped me :) xx

Re: Worries over OH's new job.
I plan on going with her on the walks maybe after a week or so depending on how I feel, and yes I wont be holding the lead until I get the all clear from the surgeon! She's really great and I know she enjoys walks with us as she usually comes along with us to the common during the week for some exercise for herself really so I doubt there'll be an issue. Its just annoying having to rely on someone else as I do everything on my own and rarely need to hit up favours so feel bad to ask her to do it as its like a minimum 6 week commitment I would imagine- depending on what my surgeon says :S Except weekends when my OH can walk him as he wont be working.
Cant wait to see him again and try the sample sizes on again, I just love wearing them :) Its not the same with the rice boobies, although you have the comfort of your own home with those so you can jump up and down whilst wearing them and wont be judged. Unless of course your neighbours see you. LOL. x

Re: Worries over OH's new job.
Its difficult for anyone with responsibilities Yolanda and have to have to pass that control on to others before having this surgery, but it really is best to get into that headspace now so that you aren't tempted to take the walk yourself later.
it might be worthwhile googling dog walkers in your area now so that if at any point you feel its too much for your sister post-op you can just give them a call to help take care of the dog.
You sound like you know all the risks already and are very level headed about it, but just to cover yourself hun. It may worth having that 'plan B' in case if needed.
I have 2 cockers who are very excitable if they don't get two walks a day, but they both seemed to know they had to put up with the garden for a while whilst I busy getting well after my first BA and they adapted just fine. So don't feel guilty babe if this is a last resort. They'll be just fine.
Wishing your OH lots of luck with his possibility of a job after this one hun. Xxx

Re: Worries over OH's new job.
Hey Jenniffer, that's exactly what I keep telling myself that July is almost over and its only August to get through, which will be over before we know it and just a couple of days of September which I intend to be very busy getting the house sorted before I take my break from washing and ironing lol and I'm working the day before my surgery so lots to keep me busy.
Thanks Cookie for the advice there, I am very aware of the risks to myself if I went against surgeons advise so I wouldn't be tempted to walk him myself and I'm sure if all else fails, a ball in the garden will do the trick just fine and ill kick it around if need be. I do have a few neighbours who have dogs so may bring up to them about walking him if needed as they did offer before some time ago coz our doggies are good buddies lol. Luckily theres a house near mine that advertises dog sitting and dog walking there and ive thought about contacting them should I need a dog sitter for when we go away on holiday so will call them and arrange some walks should my sis feel like its too much work.
Thanks for all your imput ladies :)

Re: Worries over OH's new job.
Yeah lots of options, just a shame its not the easiest option but ah well. Its not a permanent thing so not to worry. Just thinking of the money side of things as savings going in to my boob fund so would rather my sis do it for free and we treat her to a meal later on than what they can charge for walking your dog around lol. But if its necessary then that's what will need to be done.
I'M SOOOOOOO EXCITED, ITS ALL IM THINKING ABOUT AGAIN, JUST WHEN I STARTED TO CHILL OUT ABOUT IT!!! :)

Re: Worries over OH's new job.
We will more than likely behaving conversations back and forth around that time with questions and concerns as well as be experiencing them at the same time lol. That's a comforting thought to know I can ask someone in the same boat as me. This site is amazing for sharing real life experiences and knowledge, god knows how women make it through their BA journey without it! I would have booked with the first place I went to for consultation if I hadn't been advised to get more info and have as many consultations as poss and go BAAPs registered surgeon for the best of the best. And many other tips and advice that I can say has lead me to where I am now.
Very thankful, ROLL ON SEPTEMBER 4TH AND 8TH!!
