Guilt?
So although I'm going to have a boobie fund set up so that when the time comes for a re op I will have the money in place hopefully I wonder how guilty I will feel? In the next 5/10 years I hope to have children and just feel bad that I will have thousands of pounds going on me when it could be spent on them!
I guess this is normal, but just wondered how to cope with this feeling?! Xx

Re: Guilt?
I'd say you are doing the sensible thing saving up so u have the funds there when u need them.
I have 2 young kids and don't have any guilt that we spending this money on a boob job. You will naturally provide your kids with all they need when they are young. My kids aren't missing out on anything by me doing this.
Don't worry about any guilt hun, although u making me worry that when I need re op I may feel differently!!

Re: Guilt?
Jennifer... I think guilt and having a BA when you have kids comes hand in hand. At some point probably all mothers will go through this stage, but it does soon go.
Not one good mother will ever see her children go without and I bet there's not one mother here who's child is going without 'materially' either before or after surgery... But AFTER surgery children gain. They gain a happier mother and then in turn makes for happier children, so it all works out well in the end. Xx

Re: Guilt?
When I first booked my date in I felt really guilty, my hubby asked if I was excited, I was but I felt more guilty than excited. I don't feel like that anymore because my kids are not missing out on anything because of me doing this. You said you are saving for when you need a re-op so I don't think you will feel too bad when the time comes Hun because that money is specifically set aside for your boobs

Re: Guilt?
Thank you for replying , what your saying makes sense about never letting the children go without. I guess we will all feel it when that money could be spent elsewhere but I guess it's our health and that's more important to the children! I am going to save really really hard and ensure I'm always prepared if possible.. It's such a hard feeling so I just knew everyone here would be able to help esp those who ready have children, thank you xx

Re: Guilt?
Hi Jennifer, I've also had this cross my mind as I haven't had children yet and I think when it's time for re op I don't know what my financial situation will be. But all we can do it try our best to keep a boobie fund and have that money there ready, just for our boobs. You have to think about the here and now as who knows what the future brings, all we can do is try our best to be prepared! xxx

Re: Guilt?
Hi Jen,
I personally think that you, or anyone else with children, has no reason to feel any guilt whatsoever. Although anyone who has a BA will have to do some forward planning in order to prepare for the future outlay, if you're sensible, there is no reason why this should impact your family. If you have kids, it doesn't mean your own needs should get pushed aside. I am already arranging to have a small amount put aside from every paycheck and I don't intend to have kids. I think it's very manageable over a period of several years (as opposed to leaving it to the last minute which could perhaps have a greater impact) so please, please don't worry or feel guilty unnecessarily hun. The fact you are even thinking about this pre-BA shows that you are sensible enough to do anything possible to avoid future financial issues, but you must prioritise your own needs and desires along with those of your potential future family! xx

Re: Guilt?
That's a great reply goldi, it is true that I'm very sensible lol and obviously having so long to wait for my BA I have lots of thinking time! The last bit you wrote hit home about my needs being important also.
From everyone's answers I can see its normal to think about this but that I basically need to realise my needs are important also and to do all I can to have the savings at the ready :) thanks everyone so much xx

Re: Guilt?
Hi Jen, going back to my orig message where I sounded heartless about having no guilt! I have no guilt financially, I have huge guilt my husband got to do all the running around looking after me and the kids. :-( but think this is understandable, but wanted to say financially I'm cool!!!!
Anyway sounds like everyone put your mind at ease! Phew! Xxx
