Is rippling more likely to happen...
If you have little breast tissue to start with or can it happen regardless?

It is true that the thinner you are or the less coverage of the implant you have that the implant may be more visible and in that visible rippling is a possibility.
But surgeons work well to ensure this doesn't happen, making sure those who are very thin with very little or no breast tissue have all the options to reduce this... For example, the thinnest women with the least breast tissue would probably have an anatomical implant partially placed so there's not as much upper pole fullness putting pressure on the skin.
For those that are thin with little breast tissue, a partial placement to have the muscle cover the top of the implant is used
And for everyone else, the breast tissue you have already is enough to cushion the implant.
Of the thousands of women who have passed through here, not one has ever had 'visible' rippling. But MANY have had rippling which can be 'felt' x

Just to add to this that time and time again we say here that having a BA, is not an exact science. Not even the best surgeons in the world can predict exact results. Your boobs will take on their own form with the help of a surgeons skills...
When I had my first BA I had plenty of breast tissue. When leaning forward, I could feel rippling to the inside cleavage of you boobs.
After the second op, I lost a lot of breast tissue through having the capsulectomy, I also lost more having the uplift, so have a lot less breast tissue now than I had previously. But this time, I cannot feel rippling anywhere from my implants.
However...I did however lose A LOT of weight 2 years ago due to I'll health and my boobs looked awful. The rippling was visible as well as the implant. I'm lucky that after regaining weight it had no aesthetic impact on my boobs and they've back to how they were with no rippling to be felt or seen at all. Xx

Re: Is rippling more likely to happen...
Thank you so much cookie. I am thin maybe a little too thin and have teeny boobs, but when pregnant went up to a D cup.. So when I pinch the skin I can pull it out maybe 3cm, I'm having overs and I read somewhere you need 2cm of breast tissue for overs (not sure if this is true).. Will try and gain a bit of weight before the 12th xx

Yup... The rule of thumb is a 2 cm pinch to enable you have the placement over the muscle hun.

As cookie has said it can happen to anyone, but surgeons will usually try and ensure that there is enough tissue for overs. I had very little breast tissue, but I had enough for overs. I've no visable rippling and can't feel it either, although a lot of people can feel it but not see it.

Yes there's more chance if you have little breast tissue, there's also more chance if you go too big for your frame x
