Re: August Buddies
Yay one month!!!
I'm too scared to have a ga so I'm having a deep sedation instead il be completely asleep and feel nothing but without have a general :)
I'm swaying towards getting a macom but I'm not sure my surgeon said just to get the Tesco or primark ones as well as they are high impact supports and are supporting me properly I have one from Asda which looks comfy it has padded straps it was only £3 in the sale so if it is no good it's not really a waste.
What bras have you been looking at? Xx

Re: August Buddies
intrigued to hear more about your deep sedation! how did you find out that was even an option? i must admit i feel a bit nervy about a ga...just keep thinking about what if i dont wake up!!
why are macoms supposed to be so good? i was suggested to get m&s as you can take them back (guess if you get wrong size)....how supportive are they supposed to be?

Re: August Buddies
Hello girls, in also having my ba in August. I'm booked in for the 5th at Dolan park birmingham. I can't decide between 365 or 385 cc unders. I can relate the the concerns regarding children as I have a 3 and a half year old and 9 month old. Its going to be so hard not to pick my baby up!. Im the same, hardly any of my family know about the ba and I dont know what to say to my daughter as I dont want her telling her teachers that mummy's had a boob job! Xx

Re: August Buddies
Hello Ladies! Just wanted to say Hi. I'm hopefully having my ba done in Aug just deciding on a couple of dates at the mo. All has to tie in with holidays, school breaks, etc. etc. Dates are either going to be 1st, 7th or 19th. Prob will be the latter as we may be going away. Soooo excited about the surgery tho as well as nervous. Will be good to have you guys to confer with xx

Re: August Buddies
More August buddies it's so exciting. I've got myself a v pillow and some cooling gel packs as lots of people on here say they are a must. Just posted a message asking about what to take to first consultation...I'm a bit confused. I have asked my surgeon's secretary whether I should take a bra for sizing or do they provide one, and she said they don't try on implants in the bra as it doesn't give accurate post op results! This just seems strange as most people's consultations involve some trying on. oh well all shall be revealed when i go i suppose!! xx

Re: August Buddies
Hi everyone :)
Missvmac it may be that they use sizes instead of implants, they look like a fake boob and come in all the different weights, this is what I used with the surgeon I am booked with, although the other 2 I saw used implants.
Are the v pillows people are referring too like the ones you get for pregnsncy/breastfeeding? That's what got me to this point in the first place lol!
Where did you get cooling gel packs from? I am so disorganised!

Re: August Buddies
Hi jodioc77,
I have seen alot of people are buying the gel packs from eBay but the delivery cost is high on them so check out amazon, they do them with free delivery, that's where I will get mine from. :-).
I haven't even started to think about the bits I need yet. Knowing me it will be a last minute shopping dash!! Lol xxx

Re: August Buddies
Hi jodi, oh that's a thought then maybe they will do that, all shall be revealed on the day I guess haha will let you know! Yeah the v pillow is just the orthopaedic one you will already have and as dafneylou says the gel packs are on eBay or amazon quite cheap. Someone on here recommended to get 2 so you can always have one in the freezer and one on your boobies

Re: August Buddies
Hi girls! Is everyone enjoying this weather I'm loving it slightly dreading if its like this when we are stuck in our sports bras!
The deep sedation is something I read about in a magazine and seemed like the perfect answer for me as having the ga is the one thing that scared me and was stopping me perusing any further. Not every surgeon offers it as a option luckily the surgeon I preferred of all my consulation a does offer deep sedation :) just feels like a bit of a weight lifted of my shoulders for me but that's just me being a woos.
Maxims are supposed to be good as you only buy the back size and the cups expand so you haven't got the worry of getting the wrong size, they are very supportive and quite a lot of the girls on here use them. I'm not to sure whether I will end up getting one at the min.
I new a new v pillow I have my one from when I had my son a year ago and still sleep with it I love them so I'm happy to have a excuse to buy another one.. Or two lol
I've just bought a big bottle of bio oil for after the op it's half price in lloyds pharmacy ATM so I got the twenty pound bottle for a Tenner! And I have palmers tummy butter that I've started putting on my boobs already before bed.
29 days! Xxx

Thanks for the tip off about Lloyd and the bio oil will get down there.
The thing that puts me off the macom is they look so massive I am not sure they will be disguised under summery tops and If weather stats like this....plus I go to France 2 Weeks post op!

Yh they do look quite bit and high up as well a few reviews I have been read say the material over the nipple area is quite thin so they can be seen.
What bra was you thinking of getting/ looking into? X

Re: August Buddies
I've heard the m&s are sometimes tight around the band so I might get the pack of two and some more extenders I've been told to get 34dd and 34e so I'm gonna end up with loads of bras! Xx
