Over sensitive nipples after BA ?
Hi ladies
I've not been on here for AGES !!! I hope everyone is doing well:-)
I am now 9 months post BA and my nipples are so sensitive and can sometimes feel sore , they were never this sensitive before BA . I think I remember my surgeon saying that you could lose the feeling in your nipples or gain more feeling in them ? Anyone able to reassure me I'm normal lol xxx

Re: Over sensitive nipples after BA ?
You're normal Zoie and looking very boobylicious in your avi! - welcome back hun
The nerves that are healing can take anything from a year, maybe up two for some people for them to return to normality. I've heard of women losing sensitivity and we have had one lady here that did unfortunately lose sensitivity to her nipples but I've never heard of anyone retaining the over sensitivity. This generally does happen whilst the nerves are healing, but after healing the nipples do generally return back to normal hun.
In the meantime, you might want to try the round cotton make-up pads placed over the nipples to act as a nice soft cushion for them, or some women prefer to use breast feeding pads during this time and they should in time return to normal. Desensitising the nipples will help too so massaging the nipples a couple of times a day, although its not fun will help to get them back to normality. Xx

I can't help you as I'm still pre but its interesting reading your post... My nipples arnt sensitive at all..normally there's a risk of loosing sensation but I've not seen someone has it has increased after!! :) like cookie said, it could be due to your healing and it might calm back down :) xx

I was the same as you Jennifer and about 3 months after my BA I got the feeling back in them and then since then they have been sensitive but more so recently. They look fine but if my nipples are erect they are sooooo sensitive lol so maybe you might find the same Hun. ? Xx
