1st checkup
Hi girls, my new bobbies will be a week old tomorrow. I havevhad a great recovery and am very pleased with the results woo hoo
I have to travel 2 hours up to the hosp tomorrow to have my 1st check. Its with a nurse and I wondering what will happen? My scars have been covered since surgery with waterproof dressings so ive never seen them. Will the dressings be changed??

Re: 1st checkup
Hello :) congrats on your boobies. Having been at Ross hall too, I imagine you'll go through the same thing as me. The nurse will take the dressings off and if the scars look okay she'll put tape on them and that's it :) in and out in 5 mins! She gives you some tape to take away with you too :) xx

Re: 1st checkup
hello, time does fly by :) They should just check your scars are healing well take the dressings off and leave you with steri strips on for another week or so. (thats what happened at my 10day check anyway, but cant say all clincs/nurses do the same) They should let you look at them, my nurse did I was so surprised at how small they are x Hope your appointment goes well xxx
Glad your happy with your results

Re: 1st checkup
Yes hun, you'll have the dressings changed
Your clinic nurse will need to remove the dressings to check the wounds are looking good and to check there's no stitches that just need a little help to come out. Nothing hurts at all, its all very gentle.
Depending on the echo very instructions your dressings may not be replaced, or your waterproof dressings may be put back on and you might be given some dressings that you can apply yourself as they need changing.
Both is normal. The check up is quite short but this is a great opportunity to ask the clinic nurse about any concerns or any questions you might have at all.
Nothing at all to worry about babe, you're in and out in no time. Xx
