My PCC said no macom! :/ advice please
I know the PCC is the sales woman and not medically trained etc, i went back to meet her to get my date booked in and i said so what about bras?.... from my research, lots of girls have had the macoms....
She hadn't even heard of it and typed it in on her computer, When it came up she said no because it says 'Breast augmentation surgical/LIFTING bra' and she didn't like the last part...
Should i just get one anyway because she didn't really know... or listen to her and get another one?
Also, surgeon said i should be looking at DD bras but to get one bigger also for swelling. Im a 34 back now, should i be getting a 36 or not?
Thanks xx

Your PCC is NOT in a position be giving you advise regarding your surgery or your aftercare care lovely. She has as much experience as any one of us here and you KNOW exactly what we'd tell you Jennifer - Ask your surgeon!
Make an appointment now to have a second consultation with your surgeon close to your surgery day. This way you can not only clear the matter of which bra to use, but also as you get nearer your date you generally need clarification of a few things anyway. Kinda like having the opportunity to dot the I's and cross the T's before your big day.
PCC's are simply not qualified to be handing out advise without consulting the surgeon managing your care first and only then the advise passed on should come directly from the surgeon. Nothing the PCC says is of any relevance. Xx

Totally agree get your surgeons advice. My surgeon said for me to ensure I get a comfy bra because he doesn't want me to get sore from swelling. He also said he doesn't care about the branding of the bra because he said 'its my job to get your Boob's sitting right not the bra'. Every surgeon will be different so defo check with him for the correct advice for you xx

Oh and I bought a 34 because that's my normal size but I had to go get 36 the following day because of the swelling x

I would deffo get the next size up for swelling hun. I am usually a 36, got a 38DD bra that i woke up in after surgery, got home and had to get a 40D one from the supermarket because the 38 was just unbelievably tight. 5 weeks down the line and the 38 feels loose now so would probably be safe going back into a 36 =] x
Re: My PCC said no macom! :/ advice please
No I never got a macom. I got a front zip up from M&S which was 34E. The band was killing me after a few hours and then my Boob's felt like they where bursting out. I got a two pack of sports bras from M&S in. 36E and they fit well and don't hurt xx

Okay then Sounds good. Like i said il wait to speak to the surgeon, but i was thinking of getting a macom in a 34 (my normal size) for after swelling, but also to get a few others in different sizes for when i have more swelling etc like the m&s one. I like the look of those too :) xx

Re: My PCC said no macom! :/ advice please
I don't like the look of any of them lol bring on the wires
Yeah don't buy too many. I would just buy 2 or maybe even 3. You won't have a clue what size you are going to be.
I only bought one bra and put money aside for OH to go and buy more once I got out so that I had a better idea of what size. I'm glad I did this because I was going to buy a 34DD and a 34E. Glad I never got the DD because that would have never fit.

I have 2 macoms, I got the same m&s zip up bras as Ruthaay and I found them too tight in my usual band. Couldn't even get them around me to begin with! I tried it on today and only today could just fit a 34E on! I have medium macroms, and they fitted after the BA, at times they were tight but I managed by adjusting the hooks to suit and left the bottom hooks undone (ribs where swollen) my consultants nurse said it was fine to do that. xx

Ohhh maybe ill fit my 34E soon? I just have visions of it ripping through my skin and the implants falling on the floor. Oh that was the hard thing today, trying to not to walk about cupping my Boob's in public haha. No Ruth they aren't just going to fall off xx

Re: My PCC said no macom! :/ advice please
hi jen, def don't listen to your pcc on this, only your surgeon!
i was really confused as well about which sizes to get to allow for swelling but he recommended a macom in my normal back size, and get another sports bra (can be a cheap one he said!) just one back size up but not a cup size up. i also hav bra extenders so hopefully i should be okay with all of this.
when are you seeing your surgeon next hun? x

Well i met him yesterday, and going to meet him again before i go on holiday because the day after im back is my pre-op so wanted to see him again to double check everything.
Haha i bet you just want to hold them to make sure they stay... which would look strange...xx

Re: My PCC said no macom! :/ advice please
I sell macom bras and they are pretty much a sports bra, high impact with no seams. They also give a lifting effect to those people who have sag in their breasts. Can't believe she googled it and then said no. What a plonker. Always follow the surgeons advice and ask their advice on bras.
Re: My PCC said no macom! :/ advice please
Thanks misf! I was a bit shocked that she just said no like that too!
So when it says lifting it doesnt mean they will alter the shape of the boob after my BA, just gives support to those who have sag? xx

Re: My PCC said no macom! :/ advice please
It just lifts the boobs of women who have natural sagging and no implants. Just a marketing thing. All sports bras will give lift as they hold onto the breasts firmly.

Ok great thank you :) xx
