Day case & post op clothes
Me again
Feel like I'm constantly asking questions I must come across as a real worrier lol
As I've paid my deposit and secured my date now I'm starting to think about recovery etc.
I will be in for the day rather than overnight so I was wondering what sort of things I may need (if any) to take with me? Was there anything that you wished you'd taken?
In the information that I have been given it recommends that I wear a top that opens on the front, is this common? I'm assuming this is to stop me raising and pulling my arms right up. How long do I have to do this? (I don't have any tops like this at the moment so will have to buy some)
Will I fit into my clothes afterwards? I realise that this is a difficult question. My surgeon has said that I could go to a C cup from an A. Though I have read of others with almost identical stats who had the same surgeon who are measuring a D cup (I understand that everyone is different). Is it likely that I will fit into my current clothes or likely that I'll need a new set of clothes to go with my new boobs
I will come away with one of the surgeons bras and am going to buy a macom bra to get me started also, can't see myself living in only the surgeons bra for 6 weeks in July (nice!) lol. How long should I leave it until I get measured for a sports bra? Or will the surgeons bra and macom bra be enough?
These are probably really silly questions but I really don't want to be stuck afterwards if I can get myself sorted beforehand

Re: Day case & post op clothes
Hey, this is the place to ask lovely ;) and we have all the same concerns.
I brought a large (to large in fact!)button up tunic. It was only £12 and made life a bit easier for going home, i also got a ladies large lightweight zip up hoody top which I found for £5! I found once I was home I didnt get dressed for the first couple of days and then once I stopped feeling too drowsy I wore above tops while sitting about at home. I was lucky I could lift my arms quite easily after a couple of days but everyone is different.
I brought a couple of cheap night shirts from matalan, which have been so much more easier and cooler then pjs.
I too have had macom bras which have been recommended by my surgeon to wear for 6 weeks. I know my size is going to vary loads so I'm trying to resist buying any other bras until after 6 weeks that's when I will get measured too.
I still fit in most of my PRE BA tops, today I had on a size 10 river island shirt!
Hope that's some help! xx

Throat lozenges. Your throat can get quite sore after surgery so the lozenges help soothe this for you.
There's a list of items you may like to take in the Breast Augmentation Information section of the forum > Your surgery day and beyond.
In the information that I have been given it recommends that I wear a top that opens on the front, is this common? I'm assuming this is to stop me raising and pulling my arms right up. How long do I have to do this? (I don't have any tops like this at the moment so will have to buy some)
You will need opening fronted tops, anything that buttons up the front or zips is fine, or if youd prefer you could use vest tops that are large enough for you to step into rather than raise over your head at least for the first two weeks, so maybe buy a couple of strtchy vest tops a size bigger than your normal size to step into. They're cheap enough in places like Primark, so its not a lot of money to spend and maybe a hoody or a cardigan too to keep you warm that you can just pop over.
I just wore my onsie babe. I wore this coming out of hospital so I didn't have to go home and change.
Most importantly think 'comfort' this is going to really help hun. Loose clothing that is comfortable to wear.

You'll still fit into your clothes. The only ones you may have a problem with is anything that was tight before across the top and the material had no give it. Cotton clothing such as shirts.. Things like this may not fit. But generally most clothing now is made with a little stretch in and you'll probably find you do still fit into them and you fit into them far better than you did before!

Generally around 6 to 12 weeks. These are the most common markers when women get the all clear . Up until you get the all clear from your surgeon to be fitted for a bra you will stay in your sportsbra/Macom the entire time as instructed.

There are no silly questions here babe - if you don't ask.... You don't know and it always best to be prepared, so ask anything at all that may pop into your head hun. We're here to help :flowers:

Re: Day case & post op clothes
I wondered about wether ill fit into my clothes after! Some im guessing i wont but others that are more stretchy around the top should be ok :)
Also, not sure if youve already know, but all of the ladies suggest getting a V pillow. This will not only help you get comfy, but also the girls say its good for the car journey home to help put between your chest and the seatbelt xx

Re: Day case & post op clothes
Thanks so much to you all
Was hoping I would have an excuse to get a new load of clothes to go with my new boobies!
I'm writing a list now, and I am aiming to gradually get bits each week before the op. Can't believe I missed the post in 'surgery day and beyond' section, very useful
When I order a macom bra a lot of you mention swelling, if I'm wearing a 32 pre ba should I order a 34 to allow for swelling?

Re: Day case & post op clothes
Thats what im going to do, space out when im buying all of my things rather than in one go!
Im not 100% on the macom, but what im thinking of doing is (unless you buy two) is to buy one in my normal size which is the 34 and wait until my swelling goes does so that i can wear it for longer. Im going to buy other cheaper bras in different sizes for when i have swelling right away xx
