I've just had allergan implants put in they are like Turkish delight like texture rather than saline ones, don't know if ppl still have saline?
They do two types the normal ones with 10yr guarantee and the natrelles with 25yr / lifetime guarantee - which iv had, a few hundred extra but well worth it for the aftercare. You will get to have a feel of them and the natrelles really hold their shape a lot better but some women prefer to have them less firm, its personal preference really.i have extra high profile due to lack if breast tissue from breast feeding but depending on what look u want u can have moderate or high it extra High xxx hope this helps xxx

Thank you .. just this clinic was offering these and id never heard of them! ... that sounds much better the longer life ... but guess once i actually feel them next week! just getting nervous now as im quite embarrassed about my boobs its horrid ! ...Is the profile the shape or positioning ? My friend who had hers done told me it depends on positing how big they look is that right ?

There is a pic I saw that cookie put on yest which was really helpful il try and find out but what I gathered is that the profile is the shape - I asked my surgeon today and he said the high profile will give me more volume up top of my boobs? i think The projection is how far they come out, but il try and post cookies explanation she is much better at it than me :-) also I'm prob still a bit dopey de GA but can't sleep lol so I prob sound like a gibbering fool lol xx

I have allergan natrelles, they are gummy rather than liquidy lol! I was on the pill, and I wasn't advised to stop taking it. But I chose to because of the DVT risk hun.

Allergen implants are the most common i think. There great :)
You have have the standard CUI implants or pay around £400 more for the naturelles/inspira which have one more shell around them and i dont know if all clinics do but transform offer a lifetime replacement guarentee which means when they need replacing it will be free but you still have to pay for surgical fees which is the most expensive part obviously.
Girls go with both implants and are happy with both. I think some surgeons also use nagor implants which are the same but are the british implant!
But yer, i think we all have been offered them or have them moreorless so there great xx

I had nagors so can't help I'm afraid, with the profile from what I understand a moderate is wider, a high profile is narrower...so you can have the same weight but its just spread out different in the implant...if that makes any sense! Your surgeon should recommend what's best for your frame and for the results you want to achieve. I was not advised to stop taking the pill but I did as Lisa said to lower the risk of DVT, however they may give you something in theatre to help lower that risk. Good luck Hun. xx

If you look at the diagram below lovely it shows the difference in profiles - the higher the profile the narrower the base width and the more forward projection you'll get. The lower the profile the wider the base width and the less forward projection you get.

Allergen implants Dacb8141d334aa92f16e3dd60316ade1

Allergan implants - there's generally 3 kinds we see offered in the UK

Allergan CUI: these are Allergans standard implant they're 95% filled and come with a ten year warrantee

Allergan Responsive: these are Allergans premium implants, they're 95% filled and come with a lifetime warrantee

Allergan Soft Touch: these are the new 5th generation implant (the gummy bear) they're 100% filled are Allergans premium implant and come with a lifetime warrantee.

ALL implants will generally need changing by 10 years. Some will need changing before, some may get a little more out of them and a rare few may even be very lucky for them to last a life time. But generally they only last around 10 years. Have a read [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] xx

Transform don't actually offer any lifetime guarantees babe. They're VERY clever at how they word their after.

Transform offer 3 years aftercare, so should you require a re-op within those 3 year which complies with their aftercare then all costs will be covered.

Transform offer CUI implants as standard. They buy in bulk from Allergan so they get a good deal for the implants.

Its 'Allergan' that give the 10 year warranty on their CUI implants. So if you have a rupture or CC after the 3 years, all costs for surgery will be yours. However the cost of the implants only will be covered by 'Allergan'

If you 'request' premium implants from Transform such as the Soft Touch or the Responsives, 'Allergan' give you the lifetime cover with those, so if you have a rupture or CC after the 3 years throughout the whole time these implants are implanted in you, then again you'll have to pay all costs for the re-op. its 'Allergan' that will cover the cost of the implant only.

Transform aftercare HERE xx

Yup. Allergan give the 'implant' warranty.

If you look at Transforms aftercare it simply states: "10 year warranty on breast implants" this applies to the CUIs they offer as standard. Its cleverly added so you think Transform themselves are offering the actual implant warrantee but this is not he case. Its Allergan that offer the warrantee with all their implants - 10 years for CUIs and lifetime for the premiums. Xx

Cookie has explained all about the different types. I have the premium Allergan implants and love them :) and yes to stop taking the pill as it increases the risk of DVT and blood clots x

Hello

So i've been reading that page and i was wondering, what does DVT means? I'm not on the pill but I just wanted to know.

Thanks for the explanation about profiles, I had no idea, but i guess i'm not there yet as I only had 1 consult so far. My surgeon also goes for The Allergen naturelle and i'm happy with that.

Hi Hun

I went for pear shaped as I was recommended that would be the best for me as before my BA I had 34c boobs and they were empty as breast fed both my children and they had lost volume so I had the skin just not the volume so pear shaped unders were best for me to get the best result ! If I had just had round implants they would possible slide and look awful. I have a natural look now and people would never guess I've had a BA unless I'm naked lol xxx

Post by Blueeyedsoul13 9th June 2013, 9:21 am

hi there, just caught up on this thread and wanted to add that my surgeon told me there is really no need to stop taking the pill, which is obviously more convenient!
when i asked about the risk of DVT / blood clots, he said it was so minimal because the surgery was quite short, thats why there is no reason to stop taking it.
however my clinic do recommend to stop taking it if you are having more major surgery and are under anasthetic for longer than with a straightforward BA, if that makes sense.... x
