Allergen implants? Empty Allergen implants?

Post by yettiricey 15th April 2011, 6:27 pm

Hi

Ok so having researched the polyurethane coated implants this week I'm still not sure. My surgeon has currently ordered for me Allergen which he has told me are the Rolls Royce of implants and have a rupture gaurantee. This is kind of important to me because I've had one rupture already and am fairly sure that I've got a futher one now....although it also might be capsular contracture. Does anyone have any thoughts on the Allergens?

I found out that the size my surgeon put into me 11 years ago is 230cc which seems so tiny compared to what everyone else has and my surgeon said they are small even though I'm petite and 5ft 1inch. So now he has ordered both 325cc and 345cc. Has anyone got this size implant and what size did it take you to?

Thanks so much lovely ladies xxxx

Hi, I had Allergen in october as my surgeon said in his opinion they are one of the best on the market.
Im 5ft and have got 345cc and 385cc implants. I was a 36B pre op and im now 36DD. This has given me a very natural look.

Hiya if he's talking about Allergan Natrelle/Inspira (rather than Allergan CUI), which I assume he is as he refered to them as the 'rolls royce', I was told they have a lower rate of capsular contracture too, aswell as the lower rate of rupture. They're definitely considered some of the best implants. x

Which of the Allergans is it hun? The Allergan CUI's have a 10 year guarantee and the Allergan Natrelles have a lifetime guarantee against rupture and if rupture occurs with these Allergan pay towards the surgery costs aswell. I paid a little extra and got the Natrelles myself but lots of the ladies on here are very happy with the CUI's. My 310's took me from a 32C to a 32E/F xx

This is what he has mailed me:

Allergan implants are – as far as I’m concerned, the Rolls Royce of implants. Very established, high quality- I think the best on the market.

Allergen N-TSF 345 X2

N-TSF 325 X2

They are approved by the PDA (although that is an American organisation/ system). They are guaranteed for rupture, no=one can seriously guarantee you against any further capsular contracture.

Elle do you by any chance have any pics of your post op as I'm thinking I would like to be a D or DD. I have implants at moment and I am currently a weird lumpy 34C.

I'd just ask him if its the CUI or the Natrelles so you can make your own informed opinion. I can't see off hand which it is from the info you have given. If it was me having been through what you have I'd want to know exactly which ones I was getting xx

ALL implants come with a guarantee babe, but this is not a guarantee that the implant won't rupture, ALL implants have the possibility of rupturing, the gurantee is for replacement should the implant cause a complication, that includes rupture.

I'd really think about this before you make your decison sweetness, yes, The Allergan Naturelle/Inspiras are a very good implant and are FDA approved but are they the best implant tailored to your specific needs given the complications you've had and how your body had reacted to the implants?.

I'd arrange a second consultation to talk some more with your surgeon sweetness, I understand your fears about the polyurethane implants, but I also understand that after two cases of CC you're more at risk of this happening again sweetie and they are 'proven' to be the best implant to prevent this happening again to women like yourself who may be prone to CC, which is why your surgeon and other BAAPs registered surgeons 'recommend' these implants for women like yourself.

Your surgeon at the end of the day will ultimately give you what you want, but I'd also be asking hunni, that given your history would any aftercare be applicable to you if you have the Allergans and should possibly be unlucky to get CC again, would your surgeon give you a free re-op seeing as this wasn't his preferred choice of surgery and that he'd told you pre-op the best course for you, but 'you' chose otherwise.

Sorry to sound like the voice of doom after all the lovely commnents hun, but I think there are a lot more questions you need to be asking your surgeon in person before proceeding with your op hunni. xxx

Thanks Cookie, I didn't have CC the first time I had to have removals as had Trilucent and they were withdrawn. I'm now not sure if I have CC this time...I'm thinking maybe they are the PIPS that have ruptured. I am swinging towards the polyurathane implants because they apparently give a really natural look and feel and have a really low chance of getting CC. I think I might let him decide on the day. If I have CC when he removes my implants then go for the Polyurathane if I don't have CC then I'll go for the others! He is ordering in both for me.

Love ya all you lovely jubberly ladies xxx And Cookie I need honesty at this time so please don't ever feel you need to apologise.

Cookie makes sense there hun even though the Natrelles textured design is supposed to make CC less likely my clinic only guaranteed me against CC for 3 years so proving the risk is still there or they would be guaranteed for lifetime against CC like they are against rupture, which is probably why your surgeon recommended the polyurethane ones for you with your history xx

Oh there is so much to think about. There seems to be pros and cons with all implants and I've had two dodgy lots now and don't want to have to think about it in the future :-( I wish God had been kinder and given me boobs!

Aw hun, it must be so hard to decide. Allergan are a very good implant especially the naturelle collection. If only decisions were easier.

Misf1 I'm beffuzzled by it all and seriously considering booking a further consultation with my surgeon as I seem to have so many unanswered questions. I'm thinking maybe I'll let him decide on the day. If I have CC then use the polyurathane coated ones if I have ruptured PIPS then use the Allergen ones. I'm now worrying about what size I will be. I'm currently a deflated lumpy C and apparently my implants are 230cc and he has ordered 325 and 345 to see what looks best. What if I end up too big...although I kinda like the idea but then again I'm really petite!!!!! help

I wouldn't worry hunni, your surgeon is going to do the very best for you and a natural look is what most surgeon now encourage for their patients and Mr Davidson sounds like a goodun hun, I'm sure you'll be in safe hands.

I do agree though that another consultation given all the concerns and questions you have would be the best thing for you to do babe - Hope all goes wel. xx
