Had a scare!
Afternoon lovelies, had a scare yesterday after taking dressings off to clean with antiseptic wash and put new dressings on, the wound at the T of my uplift started bleeding quite heavily and quickly soaked the sponge I was using. Seriously crap myself and screamed at my mother lol we called the clinic and rushed there to see the doctor but all was fine. It seriously looked like it had just popped open! The nurse however mentioned that I might need scar revision but I still love them and knew I'd have scars so ill wait n see. Sorry for the essay just needed somewhere to put this down xxx

Re: Had a scare!
You poor thing, no wonder you were scared
Uplifts at the joins can be tricky things, but hopefully it will heal well and there will be no need for any revision.
Did your surgeon use steri-strips to close the hole? Have you any further advise for your care? Xx

Re: Had a scare!
It's stopped, but does have iodine strip and gauze then dressing so won't know until tonight if it has continued to ooze xx

Re: Had a scare!
Fingers crossed its stopped then the iodine is great. It helps to heal the wound from the outside in, so hopefully that should sort it for you. Xx

Re: Had a scare!
If its not much blood and just a little oozing through (you can see blood but dressings arent soaking) I wouldn't worry about it and certainly wouldn't disturb your dressings until your meant to hun.
But if the dressings are sodden then do call your clinic to get it sorted. If its stopped though now, hopefully all will be OK from here on in . Xx

Re: Had a scare!
Oh I would have so freaked too! Hope you're doing ok now Hexxi, and that the clinic are going to keep an eye on you. I've read that it's the T join that is the most difficult to heal but hopefully fingers crossed that was the worse of it. Hope your OH is looking after you and you're putting your feet up! Lots of rest is in order for you! Xx
