feeling down :( bit of a waffle...
Hi ladies
I havent been on here for a while.. I have been trying to distance myself from everything "boobie related" recently as things have been getting me down. i hope you don't mind me having a rant..
basically 6 months ago I had a diagnostic laparoscopy (I was having a lot of abdominal pain and no one knew why) no one ever spoke to me after the surgery and I have been chasing my results since nov '12. I finally got my results of this surgery and I have polycystic ovaries which is likely to affect my fertility. This has got me really down as I feel like all i've ever wanted is to have a family. I'm scared and upset and feel even less womanly than I did before. I know a lot of women have this condition but I suppose the unknown is just getting to me...
I have been comfort eating on a major scale (even a work colleague commented on this) and am now feeling horrible along with the usual FLAT CHESTED. Problem is, I need to wait until Dec 13 to have the op. Funds won't allow it until then and my OH is dead against me getting in to debt. Even though he supports me with my decision he is very careful with money.
I know a BA won't magically solve life's little problems but I am so desperate to have this done and really feel like I will feel more womanly and confident. I'm 22 and have wanted a BA for 7 years now.
I'm sorry for the rant and the essay I am just really down and don't feel like anyone in my "real life" can relate.

Hey, I didn't want to read and run!
I'm so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I am not sure going to want to hear this but maybe you need to give yourself some time to accept your medical condition, be kind to yourself, do things that make you happy and take things one step at a time.
In the long term In regards to having a family it is not unheard of for women to conceive with your condition naturally or by other means. What ever happens this is by no means makes you any less or more of a women.
For your BA look at this as a positive step, have you booked it yet? If not get planning with it and put your deposit down. The next few months will fly by, you could use this time to physically and mentally get yourself In better place ready for your new boobs! Good luck lovely, sending you big hugs. x

Re: feeling down :( bit of a waffle...
Thank you for the reply Rayray. I think you are right, I havent really accepted the whole thing I am just in a bit of a panic at the moment. I meant to say Dec 2014 though... that was a typo! If only it was this year haha :)
I have found my surgeon I think... I am yet to meet him but he has all the relevant qualifications you could possibly have and has very good results from what I have seen/read.
maybe I just need to take a breather and calm myself lol- I tend to get in a flap. Thank you again for the reply. I guess I just need someone to talk to at the moment!

hi ya honey, it sounds like you have been through the mill a bit these last few months.
I'm sorry to hear you're down, but with your ba plans it can give you something positive to focus on and like ray said, your diagnosis now doesn't mean that's it for your family plans. You're still young hun and have plenty of time and things can change. I hope you feel better xx

Re: feeling down :( bit of a waffle...
Hey, my friend had the same condition and was told she wouldn't be able to have children, she now has a little girl! Even if you cant conceive naturally then you could foster or adopt.
over eating isn't doing you any good, STOP... Sounds harsh but sometimes i think we all need telling straight, people tend to sugar coat things too much.
I'm sorry for your diagnosis at such a young age, i'm only 23 myself so i can empathise.
You really sound like you need to work on yourself a lit and sort out any issues you may have... Best of. Luck on your boobie journey, i was thinking of around dec/jan too so we have that in common, i'm sure it'll come round fast, xxx

Re: feeling down :( bit of a waffle...
You rant away cupcake.
I agree that giving yourself time to take everything in and research your options is probably what you need now lovely.
I have heard that its possible for women with polycystic ovaries to have injections to stimulate your eggs so you create more IF its possible for them to do this. Then if need be and it was what you wanted you could freeze some eggs and have them saved for a time when you're ready to have children. It's something worth looking into and discussing with your GP anyway before writing yourself off as a mother babe. You KNOW you can have a BA so that's going to be there whenever you feel ready, so maybe just focus on you for a little while.
I'm a firm believer that we can all find positives in whatever life throws at us lovely. You've just got to look for them and throw away the negatives.
Sending a massive HUG and you're part of the family now cupcake. Come here for a rant, a chat or even for just a hug if that's what you need ANYTIME xx

Re: feeling down :( bit of a waffle...
Hi, just wanted to comment as well even though im not much help.
Im 21 and one of my friends found out last year that she had the same condition also. It was really hard for her naturally, but she hasn't given up all hope because its not unheard of and like kelly and ray said, there are other alternatives. I hope you start to feel a little better in time.
And lastly about booking your BA. A BA can cost anything starting from around £3,995 (can be cheaper if you haggle or have a day case etc). Have you ever thought about a loan? I know you said your OH doesnt like debt, but this is your decision and if your working and could afford to pay it off monthly, if this was something you wanted to do, then i think your OH should accept your responsible enough to be able to pay it back. Remember this is for you and you should be able to be happy. Dont want that to sound harsh either but it should be up to you.
If this isn't an option, like the girls have said, try to get a deposit down and it will give you something to look forward to! :)
let us know how you get on,
Good luck,
Jen x

Sorry your feeling down hun. My hubby sounds alot like yours, very careful with money, it can be very frustrating especially when it's something you really want. I've been wanting a BA for 10 years and my hubby has only just agreed as we are now more financially stable.
You will get it when the time is right

Re: feeling down :( bit of a waffle...
Hello ladies, thank you so much for your support. It really means a lot.
I was just feeling very down last night but realise that things will get better.
I have an appointment with my consultant on wednesday so hopefully I will have a better idea of how my condition might impact me. It does also explain the little boobies though, as the hormone imbalance can mean a lack of breast tissue, I have read!
Thank you once again for your support I really appreciate it :) and good things come to those who wait, right? xxx

Re: feeling down :( bit of a waffle...
Hi, having PCOS doesn't mean necessarily mean you can't or wont be able to have children. Lots of women have it and have children. Victoria Beckham has PCOS and she has four! Like tink said above, she has it and has two.
Its good to do some thorough research and learn what it is and what you can do to help ease it/the symptoms.
Ask your surgeon for a scan as well so you can see the state of your ovaries and how severely/lightly you have the PCOS.
Good luck. xx

Re: feeling down :( bit of a waffle...
Sorry your feeling low hun x there is light at the end of the tunnel. You will get your BA it might just take a little while! And polycystic overies doesn't mean you won't be able to have children. I was diagnosed with the condition in 2000 after baby number 4, I then went on to have 3 more children. It may just take a little longer to conceive. So please don't be too down, your go should be able to put you in touch with a specialist nurse should you want any advice on conception x good luck hun x

Re: feeling down :( bit of a waffle...
I was gonna sat exactly what the other girls have said my sister has PSXO and has a little boy So try not to think the worst, as the stress will prob do the most damage rather than the psco
Sorry I can't do much to make u feel better other than big virtual hugs, I had to wait two years to book mine and yes was a long wait but I bet it will be worth it. The distraction of researching ur boob job may be good for u xx
Good luck Xxx

Re: feeling down :( bit of a waffle...
my friend also has PCOS and she was always worried about having children, because of the PCOS she found it very easy to put on weight and really struggled to get it off, but she did and and has two lovely girls now. It doesn't make you any less womanly. But I do understand how you feel, as when I had something diagnoised which could interfere with having children I was very upset. After some time I feel nothing will stand in my way and I won't give up before giving trying 1000%. Don't let anything beat you in life hun, you want it, just go for it.
Re: feeling down :( bit of a waffle...
Hope you're feeling a bit better after reading all the positives from the ladies xx I just wanted to add I also was diagnosed with large ovarian cysts on both ovaries and endometriosis at age 22 and went on to have 2 beautiful children. And with your 'impending' boobie job- it will be good for you to have something positive to focus on - the time will fly by!! X
