The Good Boob Bible
When I started this forum, I wanted people to be able to have a place where they could talk about the one thing that mattered to them: boobs. We're all here because we don't feel right in the bodies we have. Whether it's because we were born with minimal breast tissue, or they've sagged and dropped over the years, we all want to make a decision, the right decision, to make us feel confident again.
And throughout the years on BJSF, we've seen people join, make friends, choose their surgeon and implants, and leave with the boobs they feel will make them happier. It's a lovely feeling, knowing this little community has been able to help so many through the good and the bad.
For some, though, this isn't the ideal way to go about surgery. Some people are afraid of joining in for whatever reason. Some just don't have the time! So when I was given a copy of The Good Boob Bible, written by surgeons Miles G Berry and Dai Davies, I thought this could be a nice way for women who don't have the support of an online community to make the right decisions if they choose to have surgery.
The book is £7.99 and available online. Or you can pick up a copy for about a fiver on eBay.
Most of us will be familiar with the content. It talks about how to find a suitable surgeon, the risks, anaesthesia, the operation itself, recovery and getting a suitable bra afterwards. There is also a centre spread of images demonstrating measurements, pre and post op photos and implant sizes. It also has a few case studies which could make for interesting reading, especially if they're unaware of anyone who's had breast enhancement surgery.
All in all, it's definitely worth recommending to people who may be interested in having surgery, but don't have the time to join a community like ours. And if it means more people making sensible decisions and thinking things through before signing on the dotted line, I'm all for it.
Cookie will be getting my copy to have a read through, so I'm sure she'll add her thoughts once I post it over to her. If anyone has any questions about the book, do ask and I'll try and answer before I package it up.

Re: The Good Boob Bible
Sounds like a good read, thanks for sharing...I'll be getting a copy of that.
I have a friend who is interested in having her boobs done but as your say she is sooo busy with her everyday hectic life she doesn't get a chance to come onto the forum.
It never seizes to amaze me when women jump into surgery with no idea of what it entails, however I think we are slowly becoming a little more savvy on researching and making informed choices. xx

You really can't. For most of us, the info is quite basic, and obviously case studies are limited as you can't ask them a million questions, but it's definitely worth a read!

That's what it's all about. After the PIP scandal, I hope more and more women seek out the information and facts beforehand. We can only hope!

I'm looking forward to reading
Knowledge is power girls, so the more you know... The better you'll be able to understand what surgeons are suggesting for you and to actually question anything you may not agree with given that you've done your research and between what you feel you want and the surgeon feels you'll need you can then come to decisions that you feel content with instead of coming away confused, worried about size, questioning whether the surgery is right for you, or worse, like myself when I had my first surgery... Just walking around in laa-laa land happy with what the surgeon said without question knowing nothing and fully trusting that a surgeon would know what what was best for me and at that time, even if I did have a concern, I daren't question a surgeon!!!! These people were to be fully respected and not to be questioned!!!!.... Ohhhh how wrong was I. Its been 7 years since I had my 1st BA and I'm still having problems. Had I done my research I KNOW things would have been very different.
The research you put in for yourself BEFORE your op really will pay off after ladies. Xx
