Yey exciting!! I got my V Pillow from ebay, it came with a cover and was about £8. And Primark have some nice-ish button up PJs for £7, I bought a size bigger for comfort, can't wait to wear them! Haha!
Are you staying in overnight? Do you have someone going with you?

Hi Girls,
So far all I have brought is Arnica - I actually feel really unorganised.. What lists have you been writing? I am heading into town later in the week to get some Button up PJ's and some new joggers and loose Tops that I can step into for at home..
I finally sent me Pre-admission form back today which to me kinda makes it feel all official now - although I am sure the call to say I have to pay the balance will make it feel totally real..
What are you girls taking in your back? I am a day patient, they reckon if all goes ok I will be able to head home at 2:00... It all feels a bit surreal for me at the moment.. Is it to anyone else or just me...

Re: July Buddies.
Hi Bex,
I have mainly been writing lists about what to buy, what to pack, who can help out with childcare in the first few days post-op, and everything I want to be done before surgery (I have LOADS to sort out before I start uni in Sept, paperwork coming out of my ears!!).
You have just reminded me that I need some new joggers! Thank you!
Exciting to be sending in your pre-admission form back! It definitely felt more real when I paid the balance!
I am an overnight patient so will be taking things like toiletries, pjs, dressing gown, slippers, throat lozenges, baby wipes, sports bra, magazines, clothes, phone-charger and hair bobbles/brush. I imagine that as a day patient you would just need a sports bra, comfy clothes to go home in and something to read or do if you are waiting pre-op? I will be taking my V Pillow for the journey home as well!
It isn't feeling too surreal to me but this is my second BA, I have mixed feelings of excitement (getting the PIPs out!!) and worry about how much more painful the recovery will be this time.

Yes I'm an overnight patient. I've also bought some arnica. I'm just taking the essentials such as face wipes, body wash, deodorant, makeup, fresh pants and pjs, toothbrush and toothpaste, hair brush and bobbles, comfy clothes for when I'm allowed home and slip on shoes. Also taking my phone and ipad and the chargers.. I'm also gonna buy some of those reusable heat/cool backs to take down the swelling.. It's all sinking in that its real now and I am so so excited although the nerves are kicking in a bit xx

Ooh yes I have some re-usable heat/cold packs, also from ebay, as they are really good for swelling!
Not long for you to wait now! Not surprised that you are excited!

Re: July Buddies.
Ohhh what are these Heat/cold packs from Ebay?
I think I have pretty much got child care sorted as My parents are helping when my husband can't be there and then its just down to him to sort everything out.. Ekkkkkk I am a bit of a control freak and timings for dinner and bed are important so I think over the next couple of weeks I need to learn to chill out a bit ...
Its just so weird, I can't even imagine what I am going to feel like actually having boobs!! I am at the stage of mixed emotions at the mo, with guilt being a massive one because I need to rely on parents and husband to do my job - so to speak.. But once i'm there and its done I am hoping it will all be ok...

I got these ones:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
I understand how you feel hun, I am usually the organised one in the family, knows where everyone needs to be at what time etc so handing over to my hubby and parents is going to be tough.
I am also experiencing guilty feelings, it's such an emotional rollercoaster isn't it! But as you say, we will be recovered before we know it and be able to resume mummy-duties! How old are your children?

Hi Leanne,
Sorry to hear that you have read some negative opinions on your chosen clinic, have you already paid the balance/deposit? What sort of worries do you have with the clinic? Have you read any positive reviews that might help to balance it out?

Re: July Buddies.
i have paid in full.... the problem is i choose the clinic for two reasons as it very close to my home and i have a 7 month old, and also two of my friends had it done there, one who i went with and both of them have had no problems what so ever... to be honest the issues i have found myself have been the rudeness and attitude of sale staff which gets worse when they have had payment... both my friends were and still are very pleased with their surgerys and are happy with the result. one was 2 years ago and one was a few months ago. but i have now been reading about (i forgot the name sorry) how they was inspected and it was very bad, lack of staff, meds not stored safe, emergancy stuff not in place... so quite bad stuff i have read. when i went with my friend i saw none of that and she was looked after well medically, so who knows, but i cant ignore the report. xx

Re: July Buddies.
How would you feel about asking them about the report and how they have taken measures to improve in these areas? Is it a bit like the school OFSTED inspection but for health care settings? Care Quality Commission? When is the report from?
It is good that you have friends that have had positive experiences though. What is the clinic's cancellation policy?

Re: July Buddies.
Thanks [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] have just ordered some too.. Will make a list and cross them off and have ordered a new V-shape pillow as mine is the one I have had since my pregnancies (5 years old) think I deserve a nice new one.. Thats my mission for tonight, get all my lists written..
Leannejkl - hello and welcome ... its soooooo hard.. If your like me, I made my decision as doing loads of research and I should have just stopped researching once my decision had been made but I just kept going and digging and digging and found out things I didn't like the sound of.. Now I have stopped.. If that makes sense.
I totally agree with pr1ncessmummy you are perfectly within your right to demand a copy of this report. And surely if you are not happy with something that has come out of this report you should be entitled to your money back.. But then like you say, your two friends have been and have had no problems at all.. Its a really rough one.. I hope your friend is successful with getting the information you need to put your mind at rest... x

Let us know how your friend gets on Leanne, hopefully they will be able to put your mind at ease a little!
Bex - a new V Pillow sounds like a good idea! Mine has been in the boot of my car for a couple of weeks now, may as well stay in there as my first use for it will be on route home from the hospital! I have far too many lists on the go at the moment, need to start doing things on them!!

How is everyone doing?
Specialkj - How was the party? Are you looking forwards to your consultation?
BetterThanToast - How's your spring cleaning going? Only 15 days for you now! Woohoo!! Are you feeling prepared?
emilysarahdodds and Blondiebex - not long for you two girls now either, have you got everything sorted and arranged for afterwards?
Princessjo30 - Our BAs are 1 day apart, have you been writing lots of lists like I have? I feel quite prepared to say that we still have 5 weeks to wait! Bought some button up PJs in Primark at the weekend so I think I have everything I need for post-op now!
-x-x-
I've made no lists . But I did buy my sports bras on Sunday . I'm not stopping in overnight so I just need to get a zip front top for the way home and my arnica 30 xx

Yey for buying your sports bra! which one did you go for?
I got my arnica 30 from a website which was quite reasonable if you would like me to post the link? I do love a bargain haha.
I am debating whether to call my PCC today (1 day earlier than planned!!) to see if there's any chance of getting booked in on the 8th July. I am a bit apprehensive though as think my chance are slim and not looking forwards to the disappointment . What do you ladies think? To call early or not to call early?

I just brought my Arnica 30 from Boots, I think it was £5.49 or something.... I also brought a Sportsbra, not sure if its any good but its Shockabsorber one that zips up, new off Ebay for £2.78.. BARGAIN!!!
Pr1ncessmummy - So are you trying to bring your operation forward? I think you should do it? Is there a reason for the 8th or do you just want it done earlier? If you prepare yourself for them to say No anyway then you should be ok, but if you don't ask you don't get - so to speak!! Let us know.

Re: July Buddies.
Bex - Yes I am trying to bring it forward as my PIP's are causing me a lot of discomfort and I want them out as soon as possible. It will also be a lot easier for having someone to look after me as my mum is going away on the day I am booked in for. I also start uni in Sept and want to be as healed as possible before then, with me having a capsulectomy and mastopexy at the same time as BA the recover is going to be slightly longer than it was the first time .
The 8th is the next available date that has been set aside for PIP removal by my surgeon.

Gah! I just wrote a really long reply and somehow lost it
Morning Ladies
Welcome to July buddies emilysarahdodds & leannejkl
Leannejkl - Looks like you're the first of the July buddies to be having their op! How do you feel about the clinic today? Unfortunately it is always easier to find bad comments about anything, people don't seem to bother when they have a good experience. On the plus side you have two people that you know personally who have had a positive experience.
specialkj - How did the party go?
Princessjo30 - Welcome back! How was your holiday? Where did you go?
blondiebex - I haven't bought any sports bras yet GG told me that he would supply one and I am going to order a macom in the next band size up (to cover for swelling) and then I'll order some more afterwards. I am going to be seeing GG next tues as I think I want to go larger so I will ask him about the sports bras then. I'm also going in for my pre-op on Tues with the nurse, they asked for me to go in a week before my op. I did give them permission to talk to my gp so have wondered if they now know about my risk of blood clots and so they're being cautious. As far as I'm aware GG will come to see you just before the op to draw on you lol and I'd imagine he'll go over what you want to achieve etc. Shockabsorber for £2.78! Bargain!
Pr1ncessmummy - I think I'm ready, just a couple more bits to get this weekend. I don't want to leave anything to the last minute so I want to have everything sorted this weekend! Good luck and fingers crossed for you, hope you get in for the 8th. Maybe if you remind them that you are in discomfort etc they will sneak you in there. Enjoy the sports day, I'm upset as I've just discovered that my son's first sports day is the morning after my op I imagine I won't be up for getting about etc that soon. Also I'm trying to keep my op secret so that will make it difficult.
Thanks for reminding me ladies, I need to get a v pillow! Nearly forgot! I have my arnica, palmers cocoa butter (I'm going to start using from today), need to exchange my track suit (it fits but think I ought to get the next size up for comfort after the op) I got some vitamin C tablets in the hope I don't catch a cold (my son has one at the mo) I've stocked up on painkillers lol and got a couple of books and recorded lots on the sky box to keep me entertained. So next on my list is a v pillow, some button up pj's and the macom bra.
I keep getting emails about sales at la senza, debenhams etc. Can't wait til after my op when I can start buying some nice looking bras eeek! So hard not to buy anything now.
Is anyone else dreading not being able to do much at home? My oh will be off for two weeks and will be taking over 'my job' lol I can't imagine how it's going to work! But hopefully he'll see now how much I do etc and how hard it can be!

Funny you should say that I have not heard a word from Cadogan or GG about a pre op or anything.. Might give them a call later just to see what the next step is.. I too have been thinking about size. What do you think the next implant up would make your cup size be? I do keep reading about people being disappointed with their size afterwards but have noticed they are mainly the ones that have unders.. I'm panicking about everything at the moment and the main thing is not being able to do my job at home., its really worrying me., Im not sure my OH really understands how much I can't do.. Panic!! Xx

Re: July Buddies.
Thing is when is saw GG before he said that what I'd chosen would make me a B/C. Thinking about it I don't really want to go through an operation and recovery and spend all this money to go up one cup size.
I never asked what he thought the biggest size I could take was so have nothing to go by. I'm going to ask for a large C and see what size he recommends. Also this time I shall be taking my mum with me for a womans opinion.
I've told my OH that i'll be doing virtually nothing, that way when I am able to help out it'll be a bonus. I'm sure he thinks that looking after 2 children, doing the housework, homework and cooking etc is going to be a breeze lol Shall be interesting to see what happens.
I had a letter (I think it was last week) from the clinic with details of what I can and can't do before and after the op, a sandwich order form lol and asking me to call to arrange my pre-op. Maybe just give them a quick call or email just to check about the pre-op.
At the moment I haven't heard anything about the payment other than it has to be paid next Tues. With the deposit they sent me an invoice and I paid through paypal, but so far I haven't had an invoice for the remaining balance.
