worried about OH..
So one of my biggest concerns is not the surgery but the aftermath. I've told my OH a million times that I could be in a lot of pain etc and will probably need lots of help with lifting, cleaning, showering and getting dressed etc.
I'm quite an active person and don't normally take any time to relax. I work full time, run around after our little girl who's 3 and I'm super OCD with housework. I cannot stand things being out of place. I keep having visions of the house being tipped upside down and The little one having odd socks on going to nursery and toys everywhere. Dinner and bath time be in very late.
I'll get so stressed out if all this happens!
He says everything will be fine and he'll be able to handle it. I have a feeling after day 1 this will all go to pot.
Is it normal to be worried about this? Anyone else had a similar situation???
Xxx

Re: worried about OH..
I don't have OCD but I hate a messy house with things everywhere etc.. when you have just had your op you just need to think to yourself "what's more important, my healing or the dust/toys everywhere etc?". My mum and dad helped me out with my little girl and the tidying/cleaning etc, but things that weren't done "how I do them", I just ignored x

Re: worried about OH..
I normally hoover twice a day and dust everyday. I just hate even seeing a crumb. My problem is OH works full time, although he has taken some time off to help... He'll probably just see that as a holiday and want to laze around. My parents live hours away from me. I think I'll just need to try and deal with it though. I know its gonna get to me though :-(

Omg ruthaay u are me!
I think we need to reassure each other daily that it ok! I cannot stand mess if the house is messy it makes me feel dirty etc stupid I know!
I'm gonna clean the night before and hopefully it won't be that bad when I'm back to it!

Re: worried about OH..
He has taken a week off. I have trained him up and when he has days off without me he does clean sometimes without being asked. I think I may opt to buy a blindfold and wear it around the house xx

Sezbaby I actually hate a crumb, it's just awful. Everything in my house has to be minimal, clean and tidy. Everything has a place and everything has to match and be symmetrical.
I get so excited when we reach the cleaning section in Tesco and end up spending a fortune. I'm such a loser haha xx

Re: worried about OH..
It will drive you mad for the first few days!! But there does come a time when you sit there and think, actually I don't care about the mess, I don't care that it's only been hoovered once today, I have boobies and that's all that matters and I will do my very best to let them heal properly xx

Re: worried about OH..
Hi ruthaay, I had a conversation yesterday with my oh about the cleaning whilst I'm recovering as the thought of being surrounded by mess is worrying me too! Luckily my oh has taken a week off work to help me but I am forever cleaning up after him! Think the girls are right, a bit of mess will be worth it in the end for new, fully rested boobs! X

Re: worried about OH..
I'm the same hun, Im incredibly meticulous and my husband says I have OCD! I hoover twice a day also.. I'll notice the tineest crumb, mark anything and it was hard after a c section and I told him it would be the same with me being out of action being housewife for a short while.!
I have 3 children and I just 'over saw' everything!
He tried his best but sometimes you juts have to let little things go whilst he does his best and then after a good few weeks you'll be able to do little bits then 6 weeks Hoover to your hearts content!
Maybe just do a rota before your op doing thi g's that heed to be done a day and then for things done once a week etc. x

Re: worried about OH..
Yes ruthaay, I'm struggling with this at the mo, I've actually planned a whole cleaning madass party for myself straight after my 6week check!! Been doing a lot and kids helped but it's not to my standard and I'm going mad, so I'm trying to keep busy any other way, mostly by avoiding being home during the day as I couldn't resist cleaning if I stated in too long. But hey! I've got boobies!!

Re: worried about OH..
I do have a clean home obsession, its normally to the point were I make the family made washing cups and putting away before they've even had time to finish their cuppa that's how bad I am.
When I had my surgeries I had to mentally prepare myself for the house not being as tidy as I do it - it won't be MY tidy. That the kids clothes might not be ironed as crisp as I'd do - they wouldn't be MY type of ironed, the person brought I'm to cover me at work to do my job, wouldn't do my job MY way..
Nothing would be right in MY eyes..
After surgery you'll often ask yourself as you feel a pang or an ache
Should I really be doing this? What's the worse than can happen?
And then it hits you! At best, I'm going to put my healing back and that's going to mean I'm going to have to sit here longer having everyone do MY jobs - at worst I'm going to end up back in theatre with lord knows what damage I've done and back again watching everyone do MY jobs..
You then have two choices... You follow your surgeons advise, your six week recovery will fly by and you'll soon be back doing your own things and have everything back under your control..
Or.... You could possibly risk EVERYTHING you've longed for, you've saved for, you've put yourself through major surgery for. It could all be gone in one stupid moment of madness and for what? To clean up? To make sure hubby wore a crisp shirt that day?
I personally chose the easy route and was back to normality at 6 weeks. NOTHING was worth compromising my healing, no matter how tempted i might have felt. X
