high or moderate profile? Empty high or moderate profile?

Post by alana79 22nd April 2013, 9:22 am

Hi ladies, I have my BA booked for 4th May!! Very excited. But I am a bit confused about the difference between high profile and moderate profile! Does it change the size you will end up with or the appearance?
Would really appreciate if anyone could shed some light on this topic.
Thanks so much.

Also if u have say a 360cc moderare and a 360cc high the base width of the high is narrower than the moderate xx

If you take a look at the diagram below lovely, the higher the profile the narrower the implant base is and the more forward projection you get. The lower the profile, the wider the implant base is and the less forward projection you get. Xx

if i may jump in on this thread, i'm still a bit confused..

i was told my bwd and the suitable implant sizes matching my bwd, they all have the same width to suit my frame and measurements, but then of course different cc amounts.. so if thats the case i wouldnt be deciding between a wider or narrower base at all, but just between a bit more or less cc's which would determine the projection on the same base size..?

The options you were given were probably within 1.5 cms either way of your BWD lovely.

If you stick with the same profile as you go up or down in CCs the base width WILL change. Either that, or they were different profiles Xx

hi ladies, yes thats true, all with the same bwd of 11.25cm my ps suggested 255 mod profile, 295 high/full profile and 340 xtra high profile. at least i think thats what it was without looking at the natrelle catalogue again.

so though i like the idea of high or full profile, the 295 is a size that i find is too big for me..
i think i like the 255, but hav an appointment with my ps in 3 weeks to go over sizing etc.. i am wondering if i can also consider sizes with an 11cm base and what difference that makes, seeing as ps only suggested sizes in my width..

You should be able to look at sizes with an 11cm width no problem. My Bwd is 11.5 and I have had implants which are 11.25. X

great, thanks redtulip! i suppose then it depends more on the projection, cc's and look you're after..
i'd rather have a narrower base i think to keep the 'slim' upper body look..

Hi fried eggs, I have 420 highs and although I am in a 34E sports bra just now, when I put a looser zip up or shirt over the top u can't really tell (although in tight stuff they look huge lol!). My husband thinks I got the perfect size for my figure and I am v happy too!
Breast width and implant choice as cookie said has limits but within that there is a reasonable amount of scope I think. My ps said my width was 11.5-12 (different sized boobs) so offered me the 390s with width 11.8, but I queried this and asked about having a bit more cc and that I wanted a really full/hourglass shape, so he changed it to the 420 with width 12.4 (identical profile tho). I am so glad that I asked as I honestly feel they r the right size n shape for me. My ps also said after the op that they fit in fine.
It depends on the look that u want!!! I know u want to keep a slimmer torso effect blue eyed so that may affect ur choice x

Fried eggs mine are high profile anatomicals and youve seen my trail. Youll have just more than a shot glass less than me so if your starting with nothing you can roughly guess by my pics :) I think mine are natural and suit my shape but some people have noticed but thats only people who are used to me being flat chested!xo

I reduced my implants and the width was one of the main things that made me look huge up top. Since reducing and being narrower its made a massive difference to my body shape and I'm much happier with a narrower implant.

I would however you suggest you go in to see your surgeon and put to him exactly what it is you're wanting from this look. If you can get pictures this would be so much better to 'show' the surgeon the look you're after... Yes, a narrower was right for 'me' but would the narrowest be right for you.... Your surgeon would be the best to advise on that.

Keep an open mind hun. What you 'think' may be right might not necessarily look right based on your body measurements and as an expert in this field do allow your surgeon to go through this with you and help make that decision for you.

You sweetie are no expert in this field.... Not one of us is an expert in this field. We can all tell you what worked well for us, but our results may not work well for you. Going too narrow for your body type could leave you with two tiny balls stuck to your chest, going to big could result in symastia. Just that tiny measurement going larger or smaller makes a huge difference!

So although its good to talk to get a general idea of how things work so you have an understanding of what your surgeon suggests which enables you to question any response you may not be comfortable with allowing your surgeon the time to explain why its best for you, but I'd very much dissuade you from choosing and making your mind up for exactly what you want hun with the view to pushing for that option.... You may just be making a BIG mistake.

Talk to your surgeon lovely. Xx

hi cookie,

i completely agree with you, and i have an appointment with my ps in 3 weeks to discuss all this.

i just wanted to gain a better understanding of the range of implants and sizes that i can actually consider, before going in to speak to him x

definitely agree with the cookmeister there. I was worried about the new additions making me look fat but they actually make me loook thinner! They are wide but the width makes my waist look smaller high or moderate profile? 3965254117 so definitely go try on the implants again. get a feel for how each profile looks. take a tight, white vest with u too really get a good idea of the size/shape :) xx

Newboobz I agree with that point- the width of mine make my waist look smaller in pics I have taken too, several friends have commented on this when I sent them my "after" pics, love it!!! X

Ballet babe, I love your avatar picture!!! You look amazing!!

I need your advice girls.. I cannot decide whether I want 265cc or 295cc high profile?? I tried on both implants but then started to wonder about the implant base.. 295cc has exactly my bwd but I felt that I look better with 265cc.. I have quite a large gap between my breasts so is it better to go with larger implant? Maybe even larger than 295cc? I've seen some pictures where implants are very far apart and think that it is caused by wrong implant base??

Thanks a lot for advice.. I am so confused xx
