first time seeing scars
Wow. ..had my tape and stitch end removed.
They look scary. ...I looked stunned. .. Nurse said they look good and have healed well.
Ive had them covered with layers of tape since 25th march , so obviously look a bit off.
I think a clean up at home and then I can actually see them properly.
My skins gone really dry. I can now use lotions but nothing on the scars till my Fourth week.
Im intial reaction was one of shock. .forgot about the blood etc.

Wow Kenzie that's a long time without seeing them. You'll have to look at your own pre op pics! I am sure when you get home like you said and clean them up .... and they've had a chance to get a little fresh air so to speak they will look fab! I bet you wont be able to look at anything else! Woo! x

Re: first time seeing scars
It's almost like you forget what's under the dressings, and then all of a sudden you've got this scar that's all bloody and crusty and yuck. They do look much better when they are clean and they don't take long to start fading xx

Re: first time seeing scars
Scars can often look worse before they get better sweetie - all normal. Once you're able to start showering they do get better all the time babe. Best to just lest the water run over the wounds though rather than actually wash then disturbing any scabbing that may be there to heal the wound hun and also just pat the wound wry afterwards (no rubbing) then a hair dryer on a cool setting to gently blow them bone dry and they'll start looking much better in no time hun. Xx
Re: first time seeing scars

I'll have a shower alil later...
I swear my nipple is stretched (nipple lift) and flat. The scar under my right looks like its dented my boob. There is a definite difference...... :-(

I wouldn't worry about your scars this early Kenzie. Honestly hun, they change so much over time and like I said, they can very often get worse before they get better.
If you're still concerned about the sent when you next see your surgeon hun then maybe discuss with your surgeon if they think silicone scar sheets might help the scar sweetie. Xx
Re: first time seeing scars
They should be ok,just worried that my incision scar shouldnt make my boob look square at the bottom. I'm still doing a pic trail to see the differences over the week.
Must admit my boobs are sore now the many layers of tape have been removed. Really ache.

Re: first time seeing scars
Are you wearing a good quality high impact support bra Kenzie. The more support you have the less stress you place on the incisions. Xx
Re: first time seeing scars
I have 3 macoms which I don't think are that great anymore.
2 m&s high impact sports bras..they are the new v ones. I did have shock absorber ones but they fell apart in the washing machine lol
My nipple scar is super sensitive. I do have the nursing pads for that.

Yeah any pharmacy, but you might have to ask for them, they're not easy to find x and as cookie says a really supportive bra makes a huge difference xx
