Re: surgeons and teardrops
Oh yeah if you walk in and say I want anatomical not rounds then surgeons are usually happy to do that regardless of body shape, but if you walk in and say I want rounds not anatomicals, for people like me it just wasn't possible!! And my surgeon was right to tell me I would look ridiculous! And advise anatomicals, so listen to your surgeons advice and reasons x

Re: surgeons and teardrops
Well I was supposed to have anatomicals and ended up with rounds!!! I have No breast tissue and a skinny chest! but I am very pleased/ relieved with the results so far! i think as they are unders the implant is covered to avoid the round ball stuck on look anyway and in time they with dropping and fluffing even for skinny no fat me I do think they will look natural. Xxx

Re: surgeons and teardrops
You have a lovely result Welshdoll and this is why its said that you'd 'possibly' be able to see a round on a very slim frame with little or no breast tissue. Luckily you gained a lovely result from rounds even though your surgeon suggested anatomicals would be better.
Breast augmentation isn't an exact science and surgeons can only suggest what would 'possibly' be the best size, placement and shape for you. Xxx

Re: surgeons and teardrops
At the end of the day, we have to listen to and trust our surgeons to advise us on the placement, size and shape of the implants in order to give us, as individuals the best possible results! That's why you should be 100% happy with your surgeon. X

BMI paperwork - mine didn't come in a rush either. They are generally happy so long as you pay 5 days before the op.
The paperwork really is just repeating info they had already taken from me so I guess that's why! Just a sort of official tick in the box x

Re: surgeons and teardrops
Feb 2013 is when they were approved for American use, Europe approved them before that.

The Sientra anatomicals were also FDA approved in March 2012.
Re: surgeons and teardrops
Yeah what i am saying is my surgeon said they aren't popular because of them not being used widely in America. The trial for allergan anatomicals took 7 years x
Re: surgeons and teardrops
As long as you have confidence in your PS recommendations then it should all be fine as everyone is different xx so your PS should be recommending what is best for YOU not what is the easiest option for them!
I think if anyone has any doubt about either rounds or anatomicals being recommended for them then perhaps they are not 100% confident in their PS
It's all about what is going to get YOU the result YOU want xx

Re: surgeons and teardrops
I wrote that post and I removed it from viewing because you took it the wrong way. It did not make derogatory comments and I replaced that exact post with almost exactly the same thing minus the part about lying down. It didn't advise anyone not to have them or say they were bad in any way. I'm glad you've put people at ease and I'm sorry you felt my post which was online for all of 5 minutes scared 2 people. I would always advise people to follow their surgeons advice. I would also say I can barely tell the difference between overs, under s, tear drops and rounds in people's avi. I've never ever in all my 4 years here tried to persuade anyone not to have anything that a medical professional has advised or that was their personal preference. I am not a surgeon and I am not qualified and have never ever claimed to be. In future if you have a problem with something I suggest you contact an administrator who will look into it for you rather than posting on the main forum.littlewellies wrote:I just want to add that I'm in no way saying rounds don't look good, my point goes back to the original post of that xray (which was removed) and how derogatory it was towards teardrop implants, I was told the text was copied from another site but it said that teardrops were a second rate rounds because they don't go flat when u lie down, and rounds are exactly the same shape as teardrop. After my op 2 girls on here who shall remain nameless said to me they were worried about having teardrop until they saw my pics because of what they read on here. I don't think there should be that kind of persuasion on here when the two shapes both look great in their own right and it isn't fair to say don't put yourself through having teardrops unless u have to, that's all I'm saying
Re: surgeons and teardrops
Misf1, you have tirelessly and voluntarily given advise on this forum long before I came here and you're efforts to help women on this forum over those years will ALWAYS be respected.
I was not aware of what happened in this instance but I do KNOW that misf1 has always remained impartial regardless of what her personal thoughts may be regarding clinics, surgeons or implants. Misf1 was a moderator here who got me through my recovery and I KNOW she has done the same for thousands of other women too. I KNOW her well enough to know that no intent of persuasion for one implant over any other would NEVER have been her aim.
If anyone has ANY problems whatsoever with any content on this forum I would remind you all that this is a 'support forum' so lets keep the 'support' on the forum and any complaints or disagreements anybody has off the forum!
I am around a lot of the time for ANYONE to PM me should they need to discuss matters regarding content on this forum.
