Surgeons differ in opinion??
Hi girls just need a little advice I've been to two consultations already and both surgeons have told me diff regarding size! First surgeon said I didn't hav much breast tissue so there was no way my body wud take more than a c cup. he said he qud try give me a C. Second surgeon said I had enough breast tissue to go a D if I wanted and if I had asked in sure DD wud b fine wit him too!what do I do xx

I had the same suggestions given to me hun, in the end I went with the baaps surgeon and who I had the most confidence in. I'd rather air on the side of caution and lower the risk of complications. But if in doubt go for a 3rd consultation ;) x

Re: Surgeons differ in opinion??
They're seen as the 'elitest' surgeons as they have to constantly undergo training and are closely monitored. I'm sure cookie has put some info on here somewhere.
I have seen a baaps registered surgeon and a non baaps. The difference was insane!! But there are some great non baaps too don't get me wrong, I just didn't see one of them.
I think 'mybreast' and 'aspire' offer only baaps registered surgeons.
I would definitely recommend seeing one hun xx
I'm the worry of size, I think I could live with being disappointed possibly being on the smaller side, but not so much if I risked a smooth recover and ended up spending more on revisions xx

Like Tink said take some pics with you. If you get a second opinion of a c Id go with the majority and of course, you must feel comfortable with whoever you choose for your surgery. x x

Re: Surgeons differ in opinion??
Hi there
I would definitely get a third opinion. Surgeons usually don't talk in cup sizes as it is virtually impossible to predict what cup size someone will be and two girls with the same measuremements and implants can be completely different sizes. Also, one person's perception of a C cup (for example) will be completely different to anothers. In all the papers you'll see celebs talking about being a D or DD and you think "WOW they're huge, I'd never want to be that big!!" but it's all a huge conspiracy - they are usually measured a lot bigger in reality. Jordan for example will say she's a DD but experts at bravissimo say she is a J, or something like that. So Basically be wary of any surgeon who talks in cup sizes, would be my advice.
I thought I wanted a D/DD and asked my surgeon for that. He probed me regards the "look" that i wanted and looked at some photos I brought and let me try on some implants etc. he kept sctum about the size obviously knowing I didn't have a clue and have ended up with a FF. They look perfect fro my frame. A D or DD would have been tiny on me.
My surgeon wasn't BAAPs registered but i did a lot of research on him before I booked and he really was fantastic. So it's not always the way that they are better. But if you're unsure, its a very good yard stick xxx

Re: Surgeons differ in opinion??
You'll find some BAAPS members in Northern Ireland HERE friedeggs. If you click on the names it will tell you which clinic they work in and where a outs you can find them and contact them.
BAAPS members are at the top of their game lovely, needing at the very least a FRCS qualification before they can apply to join and even then its not as simple as just joining the membership. These surgeons are voted in by their peers based on their ability, new members are mentored by senior members to ensure they're learning from the very best and their surgery is constantly assessed so with a BAAPS member you KNOW you're getting a surgeon knowing the latest techniques and that they're more than qualified to do the job!
There are very good surgeons in the larger commercial clinics, but you don't have the assurance you get from choosing a BAAPS member and every woman should have at least one consultation with a BAAPS member. If money is tight, I think MyBreast only charge a £25 fee to see a BAAPS member which if you choose the surgeon comes off the final total of your BA.
Good luck with the consultations babe, when having such different opinions its very wise to get at least one more to see what the majority opinion is. Xx

Re: Surgeons differ in opinion??
As the girls have said surgeons won't discuss cup size, my surgeon said I could be a C, D or DD with the implants I have now, but he assured me if have amazing looking boobs, which I have :) they are a DD and I still want them bigger so try not to get hung up on cup size and pick the best surgeon xx

Re: Surgeons differ in opinion??
Hi Hunni, cc's same as grams. Is that the rice test your doing? They say its really good. I'm worrying about size. Most people I've spoke to say they wish they had gone bigger. I think that's when they settle and you get used to them. It's hard! I'm currently a b and maybe want a dd. jeeze decisions, decisions.xx

Hi Hunni, no I havnt seen one yet. I had 3 that have got real good feedback. I'm going to go with the one that I keep going back too. My friend had him and her boobs look lovely. Everyone seems to say go bigger as they do settle. But is that 'boob greed' I have sent e.mail yesterday and wait for them to get back to me. I will keep you posted. Keep me posted to Hun. It's going to be a great journey

Re: Surgeons differ in opinion??
I saw three surgeons. The first was a female surgeon who wouldn't give me bigger than a 230cc implant which, in my opinion, wasn't worth having! The second surgeon said 345cc and the third said I could have either 380cc or 410cc, but that he would order both in and try them for size on the day. I went with the third surgeon, had my 410s and have never looked back. I would have been very, very disappointed had I gone with the first surgeon!
